Fabulous hotel - almost Belmond but not quite.
Rooms are excellent (must comfortable beds with down pillows). Breakfast is superb. Pool service a bit sporadic but overall the staff were wonderful.
This was the second time we were stayed in this hotel. We love it so much. We will be back that’s for sure. The staff is very helpful and friendly, the location could not be more perfect, the view is incredible.
Stayed at the Douro Castle Signature Hotel for 4 great nights. The Hotel is a lovely small boutique type style Hotel, right on the Castle wall and in the centre of Lamego. Very walkable to all sights and restaurants, bars and shops!! Lamego is right in the middle of the Douro and snnidesl base to see Pinhao, Peso de Ragua and others. There are over 45 Quintas within 15 miles of Lamego. River cruises from 1 hour to 1 / 3 and 5 / 7 days. Only 80 mins from Porto and very close to many other...
We absolutely loved our stay here. It is a tranquil, modern, beautifully designed and decorated 5 room Quinta with fantastic views over the valley.
Our room was lovely with a large and extremely comfortable bed, walk in shower and a good sized balcony overlooking the pool area and the valley. The pool area was great with lots of options of comfy sun loungers, chairs and tables, plenty of room for all guests.

We have just returned from a very pleasant stay at this lovely hotel. The staff were excellent, very friendly and very helpful. Breakfast was plentiful and catered for a lot of tastes. The hotel was very well located for an easy walk into the old town. Plenty of nice restaurants to try nearby. We would not hesitate to recommend the Pousada de Viseu and hope to return ourselves one day.
Such a wonderful slice of heaven. Definitely visit this property. The staff were fantastic & so helpful. A bottle of sparkling wine at the pool was €18 and absolutely delicious. The breakfast omelette was delightful, the dinner was delicious. The pool was sensational, such a lovely place to be. Book it! We had a vineyard suite, the Manor House ones seemed further away.
