I absolutely adore The Sandman Signature Hotel, am a loyal regular, and always have an amazing stay. However, this time around it wasn’t the normal outstanding stay that I’m used to for a few reasons.
1. The room that I always book specifically because it is a bit larger and has a couch and table did not have a table this time, and instead had 2 foot ottomans which was annoying because again, the table is more useful.
2. The bathroom was only made ready with one small face/body towel upon arrival, and I had to request additional towels. I know this seems like a picky point, however, as someone who has worked in the hospitality industry previously I know that rooms are to be made ready with at least 2-4 small towels in anticipation of guest arrival, and 4 if there’s more than one guest and it’s beyond just a one night stay. In this case my room was booked for 2 guests for 2 nights.
3. The normal AC unit in that room didn’t work and had a piece of paper in it, so I had to constantly walk across the room to the old unit which to change it instead of being able to use the one near the bed through the night.
4. This I’ve noticed more frequently over the course of the last 3 or 4 stays. The toilets are habitually broken lately. The handles are loose or the seats are loose or it takes several flushes.
5. The couches are starting to be more and more dirty in the rooms. And I would HIGHLY suggest a more regular cleaning in them.
