Lovely homey guesthouse
We found the owners to be very welcoming and friendly, they were fluent in English which made communication much simpler and really went out of their way to make our stay as pleasant as possible. We were given excellent advice on the area and where to find really good food. Couldn't have asked for a better experience. The guesthouse itself was clean and spacious.

A truly welcoming home away from home
Guesthouse NekoNeko is such a fabulous and welcoming place. I absolutely loved staying here. I had no idea what to expect after I booked - the place was close to where my family lives and the previous reviews were good, so it seemed like a good option. Wow! It was so much more than this. From the moment I arrived the owners welcomed me into their house (it's a guesthouse NOT a hotel), which has its own personality and beautiful, older-style Japanese characteristics. My room on the ground floor was spacious, quiet, private and super comfortable; I had work to do while I was staying there and the desk in my room was a perfect addition. The bathrooms and kitchen were spotless and fully equipped and having access to a bike was an added bonus. If you're not using a bicycle, it's only a 7-10 minute walk from Mikuni Station, which is a quick, 3-stop trip from Umeda. The suburb of Shonai, with it's markets and laneways is the next stop up, and fun to explore, and a large supermarket is also about a 10-minute walk away. So, convenience-wise, I was able to get around easily, but the guesthouse's location, by one of Osaka's city waterways and next door to a park, means that it is also uncrowded and a very peaceful place to stay I definitely recommend Guesthouse NekoNeko to fellow adventurers.

Herziges Guesthouse an ruhiger Lage in Osaka
Der Aufenthalt war sehr angenehm. Antoine und Kaoru investieren viel Herzblut in ihr Guesthouse und das merkt man als Gast. Alles ist mit viel Liebe zum Detail gestaltet. Die Lage ist angenehm ruhig an einem schönen Fluss. Der Preis war sehr fair, das Zimmer grosszügig und ich konnte sehr gut schlafen. Ich würde nochmals gehen.

Un incontournable!
Accueil chaleureux! 4 nuits passées dans ce guest house merveilleux! Une tranche de vie à la japonaise avec des hôtes très chaleureux et convivial! Je recommande cet endroit à tous!!! A ne surtout pas manqué si vous allez à Osaka! Neko Neko is the best! (=^-^=)/

Best Guesthouse with such lovely people 너무 너무 좋았어요
I reckon I could say that the best part of my Japan trip was staying at this guesthouse. The hosts, Kaoru and Antone really made us feel like we were at home and Kaoru especially put in so much effort into helping us have the best time in Osaka. She would always come and check up on us to see if there was anything we weren't sure about or if we had any questions. She also helped us with planning - what to do and how to get to places the easiest/cheapest way. The hotel is really close to Mikuni Station (railway station) which is 5 minutes away on foot, so that was really convenient. There's Higashi Mikuni Station (subway station) as well, but it's a bit far to walk, so Kaoru let us use the bikes to get to the station which was a really fun and unique experience! I would definitely go back in the future when I get a chance to go to Japan again. I really enjoyed my stay at the Neko Neko Guesthouse and I'd like to thank them very much for the unforgettable memories! 이번에 일본 여행하면서 제일 잘한 일 중 하나가 '이 게스트하우스에 머물렀던 것' 이었던 것 같아요. 주인집 아주머니랑 아저씨도 너무 재밌고 친절하고 좋은 분들이셨고, 아저씨는 많이 못 뵈었지만, 아주머니가 진짜 엄마처럼 이것저것 많이 챙겨주셨어요. 오사카는 여행 준비를 많이 못해가서 걱정을 조금 했었는데 아주머니가 일정 짜는것도 도와주시고, 어디가 좋은지, 어떻게 가는 게 제일 싸고 시간이 안 걸리는지, 그런 것들까지 직접 다 찾아주셔서 너무 좋았어요. 영어도 가능하시고 일본어도 가능하셔서 대화하고 소통하는 데에 문제도 전혀 없었고, 오히려 많은 대화를 나눌 수 있어서 좋았어요. 다시 일본에 가게 된다면 꼭 오사카에 들려서 만나 뵙고 싶을 정도로 너무 감사했고, 잊지 못할 추억 만든 것 같아서 뿌듯하네요! + would recommend 100% to anyone planning to go to Osaka

Best Guest House in Japan!
Even before we arrived, we were blown away by the level of thoughfulness by both Antoine and Kauro. I have never stayed somewhere where people care so much about the guest! They sent an email with very helpful information. They also emailed us the day of check-in when the room was ready and allowed for early check-in. They met us with smiling faces! The room was SO comfortable. I found the bed to be my favorite in all of Japan. There is plenty of room and the walls were thicker than anywhere else we stayed as well. Both gave us tons of recommendations and helped us whenever they could. We thoroughly enjoyed getting to know both of these kind individuals who have tons of experience traveling the world. I recommend this place 100%!!! Thank you for a memorable stay. :)

Great host and nice homestay feel
I stayed at the twin room upstair and it was a great place away from the noise of downtown and experience what it's like to really live in Osaka. The location is not far from the rail station too and very pretty walking next to the river to the hotel. The host Kaoru and Antoine are so warm and eager to help with anything they can. It's a really nice atmosphere and feel very safe. Quick tip if you plan to visit Kyoto: it's actually a lot easier if you just take the local train and go all the way to Kyoto instead of going to Shin-Osaka and take the bullet train. All the transfer and walking around to Shin-Osaka will end up taking the same time and more headache. It's perfectly doable if you want to do a quick day trip from Osaka to Kyoto and come right back to the hotel.

Warm guesthouse near Mikuni station
My boyfriend and i stayed at a double room for four nights. The room was spacious and well equipped compared to all other places we have stayed at in japan. What we liked the most about this guesthouse is the atmosphere created by the owners. They were doing a big effort to make us comfortable and helping us getting the best experience of Osaka. We found it easy to experience Osaka from this location. Quiet and peacefull area but close enough to the city center. Excellent value for the money.

Excellent séjour, accueil remarquable et gentillesse des propriétaires des lieux (un chouette couple franco-japonais) très attentionnés...Ils nous ont donné pleins de conseils et il a été agréable d'échanger avec eux. On a très apprécié le prêt de bicyclettes qui nous a permis de visiter Osaka... La chambre était très propre et confortable, style japonais avec tatamis. Douches et toilettes impeccables. On a également beaucoup apprécié l'espace salle à manger/cuisine dans lequel on a pu échanger avec les autres résidents venus des 4 coins du monde...très enrichissant! Bref, le meilleur établissement de nos 3 semaines de trip à travers le Japon ! On en gardera un excellent souvenir. Et si on reviens un jour au Japon, on y retournera :-)

The Best Hostel in Osaka!
Booked this last minute and were pleasantly surprised it was so awesome! Kauru and Antoine treated us like family and couldn't do enough for us. Loved every minute we stayed there and extended stay from 1 night to 3 nights because it was so nice. They helped us out at every turn and assisted us with our daily trips and schedules (as well as where to shop for groceries), with their library of tourist materials and train/bus schedules. It is very clear that they are operating hostel because they love it, and enjoy interacting with those who stay there. So many cute touches in every corner. And cat decorations everywhere. Next to park and right beside river. Would recommend this hostel to anyone looking to stay in Osaka!
