Excellent stay, located in a lovely little area with lots of cafes, bakeries and shops. Walking distance to the Louvre and close to public transport (although we opted for Uber to go to the Eiffel Tower and one of the night clubs) the staff couldn’t be more helpful, we arrived early before checkin and the lady allowed us to keep our stuff safely in a locker whilst we explored until check-in. Will definitely be returning ☺️

Loved it!

Room was small but worked well for our needs. The location is quiet, if you like a soft or flat pillow you are not going to find that here. The pillows were my only complaint. They were very firm and just not my preference. Bed was comfortable though. Hotel staff is FANTASTIC. They have lockers to store your bags before and after checkout. Lots of great places to eat around. Close to public transit.

Bathroom was small but clean. As our trip continued, we found it’s the norm for bathroom and showers. It was a place to sleep and shower. They also had lockers to store our luggage as we went site seeing, which is also a normal but nice perk to have. Most hotels have this, you have to inquire.

It was very handy to the train station and restaurants. The only thing that I didn’t like was there shower, as there’s no cubicle, so the bathroom room floor was wet when we used it.

We stayed for 2 days to explore the downtown Paris, where it is commutable to go to every signatured places and nearby the cruising harbor. All was exceptional, but the only tiny thing is, the shower room is not functional, which there is no shower curtains or partitions between bath and toilet. Other than that, the hotel is more than 5-star to have awesome time in Paris.

Renovated rooms; excellent shower, sink in bathroom. Very clean. Air conditioning was excellent and very easy to adjust. Double-paned windows meant an almost total block of outside noise. Staff is very accommodating. Super easy walk to Place des Vosges, the Seine, excellent laundry mat around corner. Bakeries, Monoprix, Post Office, all close by on rue St. Antoine.

I had a very nice 4 night stay at ths economical hotel in Le Marais district. It is convenient to shops, bistros, Bastille metro station, and bus lines.The staff was friendly and helpful. They even got me into my room 2 hours before the scheduled check-in time. My room, on the 6th floor, was neat, clean and quiet. They have been updating the accommodations over time. On my last day there they were beginning to remodel an adjacent storefront to enlarge the reception space. There is a elevator and the a/c in my room worked just fine at the end of July 2025. A few minor cons: First, the electric sockets in my room were rather inconveniently located, either under tables or halfway up the wall with nothing close by to put my phone on while charging. Secondly, the double bed in my room had two single mattresses, the raised seams of which ran right down the middle. I don't take up a lot of space or move around a lot when I sleep, so it wasn't that difficult to avoid the center. Finally, there is the doorless shower, which we Americans always puzzle over, but it is something I've experienced in a number of other European hotels. All of these points were very minor in my opinion and didn't detract too much from a very enjoyable stay.

If you’re planning on spending some time staying in this part of Paris, you’d better have some deep pockets, or rethink what your accommodation needs to be. We are always leaning to the more economic place to stay because we recognize we won’t be spending all that much time in our room. La Herse d’Or is one of those choices. Its austere room, that we enjoyed, had a small bathroom that included a toilet with a sink you could rest your head on while on the toilet. The shower had a head that fired water towards the corner of the tiled area, but had no curtain or barrier to stop the water from leaving the elevated bathroom to the bedroom. The water damaged door illustrates that water control might be an issue. Now all that said, the hotel is clean, the staff great and very helpful, but it’s quite institutionalized. If that’s not your deal, and you want to stay in the neighbourhood, good luck.
