Great hotel not far from Petronas Towers

Great hotel just a short walk from Petronas towers and the nearest MRT station. Room was great for the price we paid. Lots of space and a big bathroom. The pool at the hotel was fantastic and breakfast was really good.

The hotel is on a good location, within walking distance to most places, for example it is very close to the Pavilion shopping mall. The hotel breakfast is amazing. But the hotel is kind of old. However it was still quite clean. And the staff was very friendly.

Great buffet but showing its age

The hotel must have been excellent once, it’s showing its age. My couch had rips in the leather, paint peeling in the halls. The breakfast buffet was amazing but the other in house restaurants were closed. The hotel is dry now, no notice that bar was closed. My bed and pillows were very comfortable but the A/C was on maximum everywhere using lots of energy and making the indoor spaces very cold.

Very old hotel, not maintained well. The property should be upgraded as it has v bad rooms, uncomfortable beds and restrpoms. Please donot stay here as there are way many better hotels in Kuala Lumpur.

The hotel is about a 10 min walk from the Pavilion mall which is fine if you want to eat in the food court or you can walk outside the mall for more restaurants. The hotel does not serve alcohol and we found it a little inconvenient to have to walk that far when we would like to relax with a beer in the hotel. This wasn't mentioned on the details on Expedia, otherwise we may have chosen somewhere else to stay. The lounge area in the hotel is fine but a little soul less, you can get a soft drink there, however a can of sprite is about £4 GBP which is extremely expensive compared to anywhere else in the area. They could perhaps offer a range of non alcoholic cocktails to make it a more appealing venue and attract more guests. The pool area is lovely for a dip. The hotel also charges a tourist tax of 10 myr per night which was not mentioned in the hotel details on Expedia either.The rooms are tired and the air con is very noisy but effective. The bed was very comfortable but we could hear our neighbours through the thin walls. Buffet breakfast was very good too. Overall not a bad hotel, and good value for money but it has so much potential to be better.

初めて泊まった時からこのホテルが大好きです。マレーシアらしいムードの落ち着いた館内、お部屋も新しくはないけど必要十分な設備と広さがあり、従業員は皆さん丁寧な接客をしてくださいます。酒類の提供はされていないようですが、ワイングラスをお願いしたら部屋に届けて下さいました。今回クリーニングもお願いしましたが中１日で仕上げてもらえるので、次からは着替えを沢山持っていかなくても済むなと。

Intesting stay

Stayed here many times over 15 years. Staff is great. Rooms could use an update as usual. This time was a real pain as we had to park in the lowest level. Found out we had no elevator access. Had to move to another level and again no elevator access for paying clients. All the staff could say it was a service issue but 2 days! They made people wait made an hour to get to their rooms for breakfast this morning In light of that the room and staff are great.

Second visit this year, which was not as good as the first. Insufficient towels. The sink was old, repainted and distressed. Shower valve difficult to control as it tended to shutoff by itself. No coffee supplied and fridge didn't work (had to be replaced). Maintenance responded fairly well. We liked the location, very convenient to the Pavillion. The staff was always friendly and helpful. Breakfast was fair. The staff was a bit overwhelmed by a very large contingent of tourists converged for Rotary convention. We have always enjoyed our visit to the Royale Chulan, which provides excellent service and value. We would return again.
