I recently stayed at 42 Hotel Brooklyn and wanted to share my experience. The hotel itself is nice and clean, which is always a plus. However, my stay was marred by several issues and inconveniences that I believe warrant attention.
Upon checking in, we discovered that the mini fridge in our room wasn’t plugged in. This meant our food and drinks were left unrefrigerated for some time. After plugging it in, we found that it still didn’t cool effectively, leaving our items lukewarm.
Additionally, the shower had two heads, but we weren't informed about how to operate the larger one. A quick orientation upon arrival could have avoided this confusion. We also encountered issues with the TV casting feature; it simply wouldn’t connect to our phone. When we reached out to the front desk, we were informed that it was not operational, leaving us with only regular cable for entertainment throughout the weekend.
Dinner at the hotel restaurant was another disappointment. There was only one server on duty, which resulted in a long wait—15 minutes just for a glass of wine. The following morning, we were eager for breakfast but were informed that the chef had not come in for the day. While there was a café available, it only served pastries and not a full meal. It would have been helpful to receive this information in advance, perhaps through a notice in our room or at the front desk.
