The Durrant is the kind of place you want to support - it is family run since over a century, it has its own character and identity, is full of charme and history -- it is the exact opposite of everything that's wrong with soul-less, anonymous, big corporate hotels. Also, it is wonderfully located in a really delightful part of London, very central and easily accessible, yet on a quiet street. Staff is really kind, smiling and helpful too. However, the hotel's condition was rather disappointing, sound isolation is unexistant, beds much too soft and small, windows could hardly be opened, and bathroom amenities and appliances completely outdated and unpractical. This place deserves a make-over in order to keep existing as a loveable, indpendant hotel for yet another century.
