I was a little concerned when I read mixed reviews of this property; however I’m so glad I stayed here. If you’re looking for a “true” high end resort, this may not be for you. There are a few areas that are a little tired and could use an upgrade, but the reason I’m happy I stayed here is because I managed my expectations for a property based on location, and didn’t compare it to North American standards. The welcoming staff more than compensated for not having a high thread count on the sheets, but keep in mind you’re also NOT paying $500/night for a room, or $25 for a glass of wine. I felt the pricing for this property is completely fair and inline for what was provided.
The accommodations were highlighted by the staff that truly wanted to “accommodate”.
Everyone asked if I was enjoying my visit and to let them know if I needed anything. They bent a little when I was a little past the time on happy hour. They warmly put their hand on their chest and did a slight bow when I walked by, and greeted me with a smile. The employees all took pride in their jobs and you could tell they were happy to be there; I can’t say that about a lot of places I’ve stayed where I have spent a lot more money. In summary, if you want a perfectly pristine resort, this may not be it; however if you want to leave a place with a smile on your face and in your heart, Mövenpick will absolutely do this for you, I feel very sure.
