We ended a two-week cruise with three days at the Gamma Hotel. Our room seemed to be in the process of renovation: it was spotless but aside from the twin beds and a table and chair, it lacked furniture. The table held a microwave and a refrigerator served as the bedside stand for the beds. There was no stand for the suitcases. The shower had no soap dish or other hardware to spread towels. A very modern sink had no place to put the soap. Only two electric outlets were available (after unplugging the microwave). A single high window provided the only natural light; it looks as if the room was formerly part of an office or factory with very high ceilings. That said, it was comfortably temperature-controlled, quiet, and very clean and on the ground floor so the lack of an elevator did not cause concern. There was no housekeeping except a change of towels on the second day.
If this sounds like a critical review, it is not meant to be, given the very low cost of the accommodations. It is a perfect budget value, particularly given its location about 4 blocks from the pier, ferry terminal, downtown shopping and the university. The management was very helpful in providing us an adaptor for the electric plug and an extra spoon, so we could make our own breakfast in the room.
