Not posh but comfortably adequate
Because of an unavoidably early flight-time I arrived three hours before check-in. The lady at the desk helpfully notified the cleaning staff and I was allotted my room after only about one hour.
The room was large and comfortable and there was a safe as per my booking. The TV had lots of channels. My window faced a back street but I didn't mind and I had in fact declined reception's offer of an upgrade (at extra charge) to a seaview room.
The hotel was on the sea-front five mins from the coach stop and also close to the pier. It took about ten mins to walk to the centre or to the Kensington Gardens shop and café area.
The bathroom was large, with a bath-tub. However, the shower taps were hard to regulate and tended to get stuck on boiling hot - so watch out!
I usually only have a cup of coffee in the mornings. I did pay for breakfast one morning but didn't find it all that great so didn't bother after that.
Note that the breakfast is two pounds cheaper if you order in reception the night before!
The lifts were quick but could only be accessed by going down a few stairs from the lobby (there was a wheelchair lift to negotiate this but I don't now how efficient it was as I never saw it operated). No problem for me but it might be less than ideal for a disabled person.
On the whole I was satisfied with my stay and might stay here again if ever in Brighton.
