HEALTH AND FIRE SAFETY CONCERNS

Minor issues: Coffee maker did not work, A/C sounded like it was struggling and made terrible noises most of the night, bathtub drained slowly while showering so that I was standing in 3-4 inches of water.
Moderate problems: Mold/mildew clearly visible in large sections of the bathroom (health issue).
Severe concerns: Smoke detector looked old. Upon inspection was not plugged in to hard wire connector and had no battery in backup slot. Model (BRK 4120B) was manufactured between 1998-2003, then discontinued.

These issues were reported to the manager who was dismissive and not reassuring. I have stayed at many Super 8 and other hotels without similar issues.
Please avoid this hotel until your safety can be guaranteed. If you need to stay there, check that the smoke/fire alarms have been replaced throughout.
