My husband and I spent a long weekend in New Orleans, and stayed at Hotel Le Marais. I had spent a long time researching and felt confident in my selection with Hotel Le Marais. I received an email from the hotel 3 days before arrival, informing me about construction, parking issues, restaurant/bar closures, etc. I should have booked elsewhere.
The hotel offers "valet parking" but really it's off sight parking, and one should not be charged for "valet parking". The parking is the hotel across the street's lot. The restaurant and bar in the hotel are closed, and there are no vending machines on site.
The room was clean, and the staff were very sweet, charming and helpful.
The bed was very uncomfortable, an old box spring at best. The TV signal was awful. There's no mini-fridge or microwave in the room, so don't bother getting to-go or take home meals anywhere.
Realizing the location of the hotel, one has to understand there will be loud noises outside. Our room was right on Conti street, and we could hear drums, music, cars, and people partying until around 4am every night. That's understandable, but what drove me crazy was the hotel guests, screaming and laughing in the hallway at all hours of the night.
Needless to say, unfortunately, I was very disappointed.
