4/10 Fair

The beds were excellent. Excellent hot water supply. Cold water tap to bath had no water. Had to run shower on cold to put cold water in bath. Water pressure for shower pitiful. Shower either very hot or cold. No way could control heat of shower apart from hot or cold Leak from bath/shower running along metal strip between corridor carpet and bathroom tiles. No heating in bedroom. No shower cap or anything like that.

2/10 Poor

Misleading marketing and room descriptions
We were very disappointed. We booked a junior suite overlooking the lake. We got a dingy, grubby, old and small room on the 1st floor. No majestic lake views...just the carpark, road and park adjoining the lake. After complaining the reception we where moved to an alternate room, on level 5. Unfortunately the room was exactly the same as the original. Still old, dingy, not clean...and small. Higher up, but still no lake view. There is an large outdoor common patio area that blocked all views. Unfortunately, while Rydges has a great location and was classy years ago...it is long past it now. I know there are refurbs happening in parts, but until completed the owners need to change their marketing and room descriptions and stop misleading customers to expect something more than you can deliver. The rooms we saw were NOT suites and should not be promoted that way...and sold for the rates asked. The only good thing to report on was the service and care shown by the duty manager. Harry deserves 5 stars for going above and beyond in sorting the problems.

I stayed here with my mum for her birthday from the end of June to early July. The staff were extremely friendly and answered any questions we had. Their breakfast buffet was a plus! Plenty of options to choose from. We also loved the views from our room and the convenience of the location. The main town was within walking distance. Highly recommend booking here if you appreciate good service, convenience and location. We will be back again for sure!

From the moment we arrived Harry & his fellow team members greeted us with a warm welcome. The housekeeping staff kept our room pristine. Parking is limited but plenty available on street if required. The breakfast was out of this world with freshness & variety. Very close walking distance to town and plenty to see & do. Sitting there on our balcony watching the sun go down was breathtaking. Definitely recommend anyone to stay at Rydges.... ps the beds are soooo comfy!!

The view is spectacular. Loved the disco music in the lifts. Family room was fine. No fan in bathroom and boiling kettle behind TV didn’t feel safe. Staff lovely and helpful. Couldn’t chrome cast to tv as issue with the tv wifi which wasn’t good. Easy walk into town.

Significantly understaffed. Housekeeping did not occur, even after we specifically requested it from the concierge. The water splattered harshly out of the bathroom sink faucet either scalding hot or ice cold. Plumbing maintenance desperately needed. Walls between rooms are paper-thin. Could easily hear the person in the next room talking at seemingly normal levels.

Was a great location easy walk to town, I read a heap of reviews after I booked and people were really bagging this hotel and I thought I had made mistake booking it. The staff were great, the room was really nice and clean. The location was amazing, only downside was the walls are thin so you could hear louder conversations between rooms for us this was only 1 night and honestly for about 30 minutes so was not really an issue.

8/10 Very good

We really enjoyed our stay, reason for lower property rating is because of the shower too hot and having to climb over bath. Also massive stains on carpet and in fridge. Someone would have been charged to get this cleaned or replaced and it has not been done. We did have a lovely stay, joining rooms was also great.

2/10 Poor

Room was not ready 30 mins prior check in time (this is also happened to me 8 years ago) we were offered another room which was nice however this room had a bed with broken slats, a shower that leaked and kept changing temperature scolding us, and a basin sink that would fill while using and would take mins to drain. When mentioned to reception they said they would let maintenance know. Nothing was done about it or an alternative offered for the duration of our stay. Housekeeping was not completed until after 4pm each day, I had to request to be prioritised as we did not want to come home to am unmade room/clean towels/toiletries. This request was met but we were told that this is standard practice as check ins take priority. This is concerning as our room was not ready 30 mins prior to check in. The solution you would think would be to employ enough staff to be a me to manage the large volume of rooms and housekeeping. This was all the case 8 years ago. It seems to be the way they run their business. I will not be returning to this hotel. Staff were helpful and kind, but the business model is questionable.
