Giving feedback as a 6 foot 4 person.
The beds at this hotel were shorter than normal, by about 6 inches so, my feet just dangled off the bed and It was really difficult to sleep. The front desk person told me that "in NYC, King Size beds are shorter," which was annoying, so I measured It. The beds are around 75 inches, known as a "short king."
I also asked to see maybe I can see another room with queen size mattresses, and those too were short, known as "short queens."
They do this to make the tiny rooms feel bigger. The rooms I found really cramped, they weren't THAT much smaller than other hotel rooms, but the bed was shorter, the layout was weird, I just was bumping into stuff at every turn.
Everything else was fine. If the person at the front desk is reading this, I have since visited 4 friends, and went to a different hotel. They all had king beds, can confirm that king size beds in NYC are not all shorter, just at your hotel.
