The Rhine Embankment Promenade (Rheinuferpromenade) is among the city’s most popular spots for a stroll. Sitting between the Altstadt (Old Town) and the Rhine River, it’s a favourite destination for locals and visitors, stretching out around 1.5 km and giving you great views of the Rhine Tower and Castle Tower.
The promenade is only a short walk away from Altstadt, where you can grab a bite and sip altbier, a type of beer widely sought after in Dusseldorf. You can lounge on the benches at the promenade’s top part or go down the central strip to enjoy food and drinks from open-air bars. Rhine Tower

The Rheinturm (Rhine Tower) is among Dusseldorf’s most famous architectural landmarks. Its 164-metre-high observation deck offers a good view of the city’s landscape, starting from the Rhine River to the various buildings and sights within the city. If the weather is great, you can even see as far as the Cologne Cathedral.
The Rhine Tower houses several dining options. Sitting on the viewing level is M168, a bar and lounge offering 40 unique cocktails. QOMO is a revolving restaurant serving modern fusion Japanese cuisine. There’s also the Deli Circle, which stands at a height of 168 metres, giving you a panoramic view of Dusseldorf.

Tonhalle is an impressive concert hall in Dusseldorf that was originally intended to be a planetarium. Here, you can enjoy a musical feast under a blanket of stars, thanks to its metal dome that’s fitted with light installations. The complex hosts over 350 concerts annually. It can accommodate 300 guests in the music chamber and over 1,800 guests in the main hall.

The Capitol Theater is an old tram depot that was renovated in 1994 and has since become a hub of cultural events and live entertainment in Dusseldorf. It showcases stunning brick architecture and large windows. Inside, you can find a spacious concert hall and a glamorous club.
The theatre’s large hall holds more than 1,000 seats, while the small hall has 400 seats. It’s the venue for major musicals, including Grease and Cabaret. The Capitol Theater is within walking distance from the Tanzhaus NRW, a dance academy that also hosts great shows. Note that the box office opens an hour before the show starts.
