- April–November is the rainiest time of the year, with an average of 10 rainy days per month.
- Snowfall can be expected between November and April.
- June–August is peak tourist season, with hotel and flight prices rising accordingly.
- April–May and September–October are great times to visit as you’ll avoid the peak season’s throngs. Flight and hotel prices are quite affordable. The weather is pleasant, but pack a jumper and raincoat, just in case.

How to get to my hotel in Mississauga?
Toronto Pearson International Airport
Toronto Pearson International Airport is the primary airport serving Mississauga. One of the largest and busiest airports in Canada, it sits 10 km northeast of the city centre. Toronto Pearson Airport features 2 passenger terminals and 1 infield terminal. Terminal 1 is one of the largest buildings in the world. The airport hosts a great range of dining and shopping options, as well as facilities like banking and currency exchange services. There are several transfer options to reach Downtown Mississauga:
- A taxi takes around 15-25 minutes. Taxi ranks can be found at Door D on the Arrivals Level of Terminal 1 and Doors D, E and F on the Arrivals Level of Terminal 3.
- You can also use Uber and Lyft apps at Toronto Airport. The pick-up areas are on the Ground Level at Doors Q and P in Terminal 1 or Arrivals Level Door D in Terminal 3.
- MiWay bus services take around 30 minutes. The bus stops are at Terminal 1, Ground Level, second curb, Column S4. It’s the cheapest way to reach central Mississauga from Pearson Airport.
- Car rental agencies can be found on Level 1 of the Terminal 1 and Terminal 3 parking garages.
Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport
Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport is the secondary airport serving Mississauga. Settled on Toronto Island, 20 km east of Mississauga city centre, it’s one of the busiest Canadian airports that serve the US. Billy Bishop Airport features 1 passenger terminal in which you’ll find dining and shopping facilities, as well as banking and currency exchange services. There are several transfer options to reach Downtown Mississauga:
- A complimentary shuttle bus can take you to Toronto Union Station in around 15-20 minutes. The bus stop is just outside the terminal. From Union Station, you can catch bus line 21 to Mississauga, which takes around 40-45 minutes. It’s the cheapest way to get to Mississauga from Billy Bishop Airport.
- A taxi takes around 25-35 minutes. The taxi rank is right in front of the terminal exit.
- You can also use Uber and Lyft apps at Billy Bishop Airport. The pick-up area is just outside the terminal.
- Car rental agencies can be found in the arrivals hall.
If you come by train to Mississauga
Union Station is a major transportation hub in Toronto. Built in the early 20th century, it has a stunning Beaux-Arts-style Great Hall and the 22 columns of the façade make it look like a Roman temple. Served by Via Rail and Amtrak lines, it’s home to dining and shopping outlets. From here, you can reach Mississauga by bus or taxi, including ridesharing.

How to get around Mississauga?
Travel tips
Mississauga City Centre covers 1.2 sq km that can easily be explored on foot. You’ll find many attractions and shopping options within walking distance of each other, including Square One Shopping Centre, the Living Arts Centre and the Art Gallery of Mississauga, just to name a few. The city centre also has a great choice of dining and nightlife entertainment venues. Public and private transport services are available for longer journeys.

MiWay bus networks
- MiWay operates the bus networks in Mississauga. They cover the entire city and connect Mississauga to Toronto.
- Single tickets and 10-ticket books are available.
- Tickets can be purchased at the City Centre Transit Terminal and MiWay ticket agents throughout the city, including at many food marts and convenience stores.

Taking a taxi
- Taxis can be hailed on the street in Mississauga.
- You can easily find taxi stands outside hotels and near the main attractions and shopping areas.
- You can also directly call popular companies such as All Star Taxi Service Inc. (+1 905-602-0000), Mississauga Taxi (+1 905-277-7777) or All Star Taxi Co-Op (+1 905-602-0000), just to name a few.
- Most taxis accept fare payment by credit card, but it’s better to ask the driver before you get in.
- It’s common to give a 10-20% tip to the taxi driver.
- Uber, Lyft and local taxi apps can also be used to hail a taxi in Mississauga.
What are the main annual events in Mississauga?
Streetsville Founders’ Bread & Honey Festival
- What: One of the largest and longest-running events in Mississauga, it celebrates tradition, history and community spirit. You can sample complimentary fresh bread coated with honey.

Canada Day
- What: Canada Day celebrates the nation with live music and plenty of food and drink. Internationally renowned artists and local bands perform on 2 stages. The festival ends with a dazzling fireworks display.

Tim Hortons Southside Shuffle Blues & BBQ Festival
- What: This popular festival attracts over 70,000 attendees for a 3-day outdoor event dedicated to blues and jazz. An art and craft market, as well as food and drink stalls, are set up across the venue.
