Place is beyond beautiful, trails, small waterfall, so many cozy places to hang around, the decor is so nice. Restaurants was 7/10 at best, few options actually but there are really good restaurants nearby. Included breakfast was really good. Rooms are small but comfortable, heater was actually good (place is cold weather) but cleaning and amenities were lacking. I was afraid of the road to the hotel since received an email stating it was a little dangerous but in reality, you just have to go slowly and be cautious (no need for 4x4) Will totally come back

Trogon Lodge is set in beautiful grounds by the river, a really lovely setting, birds everywhere and the cabins are comfortable with porch sitting areas to enjoy watching the birds and hearing the river roaring. Quite magical! We dined at the restaurant and the food was delicious- with many selections. Breakfasts were also delicious with plenty of options. We enjoyed walking the Lodge's trails and grounds, early-morning and had 7 sightings of the beautiful Quetzals. It rained one afternoon so we enjoyed sitting at the bar sipping on hot tea and reading our books as we listened to the rain. We will definitely visit Trogon Lodge again!

Rustikale Bungalows in sehr schöner Gartenanlage
Die Bungalows stehen in einem sehr schön angelegten, sehr gepflegtem Garten. Es gibt einen kleinen, schönen Wanderpfad. Sehr saubere Zimmer, das Badezimmer ist etwas in die Jahre gekommen. Für die kalten Abendstunden gibt es einen kleinen Elektroofen im Zimmer und es werden Wärmflaschen gebracht. Gutes Restaurant.

Très beau séjour dans un environnement paradisiaque. Le personnel est très aimable et la propriété est doté de sentiers en forêt pour l'observation de la flore et de la faune. De nombreuses excursions sont également offertes. Nous avons eu l'occasion de voir des quetzals à trois reprises en seulement une journée. Le restaurant est très bien avec une ambiance chaleureuse et les prix sont corrects.

Such a beautiful place…But unfortunate problems!
Such a beautiful place and location. A unique stay. We have stayed before that’s why we came again. Unfortunately we had some not so good experiences this time. Mostly with the restaurant. We brought friends with us and we all had different entrees the first night. Each one said the meal was not good! The service was very poor. Breakfast was good. Except for the pineapple/ coconut juice which had soured. But again very poor service. The second night we could only trust a pizza to be palatable. So unfortunate! Also no towels to dry hands in the bathroom off the bar. We mentioned this but nothing changed. If they could change the staff issue and better meals it would get a better rating.

Wir hatten ein sehr schönes Zimmer und auch die Anlage selbst war wunderschön. Das Essen im Restaurant war lecker und auch das Personal war sehr freundlich. Es gab an unserem zweiten Tag ab nachmittags (ca. 14:30 Uhr einen kompletten Stromausfall Es hat dann auf Nachfrage geheißen, dass dies längstens 3 Stunden dauern kann, da dies durch den Wind vorkommen kann, welcher die Stromleitung blockiert. Der Strom war dann erst am Folgetag wieder da. Das Abendessen war durch Gasherd sichergestellt und im Restaurant sowie in der Bar gab es Kerzen und Laternen. Was ich nicht gut fand war, dass wir keinerlei Laternen oder Lampen bekommen haben, um uns im Zimmer und auf dem Weg zum Zimmer zurechtzufinden. Zum Glück hatten wir eigene Taschenlampen dabei.

Tolle Lodge als Ausgangspunkt für Touren um Quetzale zu beobachten. Gemütliches Zimmer mit kleinen Heizofen und Abends gibt es eine Wärmflasche unter die Bettdecke. Leider sehr kleine Auswahl zum Frühstück, wenig bis nichts gesundes. Die 2h Quetzal Tour ist mit 30$ eine abzocke. Man wird mit einem Bus 5 min die Straße hoch gefahren und dort wird nach den Vögeln geschaut, kann man sehr gut alleine machen. Kleine Touren zum Wasserfall um die Lodge herum möglich. Leckere Forelle gibt es auch in umliegenden Restaurants.

A supremely good place to stay for enjoying the cloud rainforest, and birds. If you're an athlete you can either hike, run the trails, or jog/run the Quetzales grinder hill descent and climb and see the bird on the way.
