Nice rooms, awful breakfast.
Comfortable rooms, as good as Premier Inn.
The pub - where breakfast and dinner is served - is across the car park from the hotel. When it’s raining you get soaking wet. Marston could build a walkway between the two which would help enormously.
The pub was modern style, comfortable but not what you’d call cosy. Staff very friendly but cheaply too few of them. Dinner plates weren’t cleared during the evening and if you weren’t eating you were directed to sit at the back of the pub - where people were eating anyway! So we had no choice but to sit amongst the smelly plates of previous diners. Not good.
Breakfast was, frankly, awful. Overcooked, bacon as hard as cardboard, black pudding as limp as Charles Hawtrey’s handshake, hash browns as stiff as rigamortis. This food must have been sitting under the hot lights on the pass for at least 2 hours. No croissant, no yoghurt, no fruit, no orange juice. Even at £8.75 it was rotten value.
Would I stay here again? Only if the Premier Inn is full and I’m not hungry.
