I booked a motel for my Disney trip to save some money, but the experience was less than ideal. Upon arrival, the lobby was filled with heavy incense, which my friend found overwhelming during check-in. The gentleman at the front desk was kind but made unsettling comments about charging a cleaning fee based on appearances, though he assured us we were exempt.
Once we entered our room, we were disappointed to find the floors dusty and dirty. I used a Clorox wipe on the high-touch surfaces, and it came away grimy. Even the wipe used on the floor turned completely black. Dust was also noticeable under the AC unit, beds, and light fixtures.
Before bed, I noticed the door lacked a top lock latch, which made me uneasy about our safety. When I called the front desk to inquire about a different room, the clerk explained that none had the latch anymore, claiming the standard locks were sufficient. Despite my discomfort, exhaustion from travel took over, and I went to sleep.
Unfortunately, we woke up to find two mosquitoes in our room, leaving us with multiple bites. Overall, it was a far from a pleasant stay.
