A Nightmare Vacation**
I recently visited Beaches in Negril with my mother and my autistic adult daughter to celebrate my birthday. We arrived around 1:45 pm, having requested an early check-in to accommodate my daughter’s needs. Unfortunately, Melícia at the front desk was disrespectful and dismissive of our situation. My daughter had an absence seizure shortly after, and while the manager, Daniele, was helpful in getting us into a room by 2:45 pm, the problems only began there.
The room smelled of mildew, and water was all over the floor from the air conditioner. When we tried to clean it up, the towel turned black, indicating the floor had never been cleaned. After a sarcastic response from Melícia at the front desk, we were eventually moved to another room.
The new room seemed better initially, but our troubles continued. Both my daughter and I started noticing bite marks and severe itching at night. My mother then became very ill with severe diarrhea and a headache. Over the next few days, the bites worsened, and my daughter and I were covered in them, while my mother remained sick in bed.
I raised the issue with Ms. Gisela, she dismissed the bites as mosquito bites, despite the itching only occurring at night in bed. The nurse mentioned to Gisela of anothe family suspected bed bugs, but no proper investigation was conducted. Despite promises, I have yet to receive any follow-up two weeks later. Emails to corporate have gone unanswered.
