I was a RIU LOYAL customer until this experience with the RIU Paradise Island in the Bahamas. My sister and I arrived on Saturday, 11/02/24. After the check in, they put us in a room which the A/C made continuous noise, and they weren’t able to switch our rooms. The noise was so loud that it constantly kept waking up my sister and I during our stay.
We came down to get a drink, which the staff looked like they weren't interested to assist us. We asked for a simple mojito, and they weren't able to make it. We then asked for pina coladas which were so strong, we weren't able to drink them. Note, they were also out of straws.
We then went to get a milk shake in a different bar. All the flavors weren’t available! I needed to buy a swimsuit and found out they didn’t even have a store inside the hotel. Note, we were also told that we needed to make reservations for the a la carte restaurants via the app. All of them were booked until the end of our stay which was scheduled on 11/06/24, so no options were available but the buffet.
At night, we saw a restaurant (Krystal) which had 5 guests inside. We asked if we could dine in because it wasn’t full. They said no, and despite the restaurant being able to accommodate more guests they couldn’t let us in due to the policy. This entire experience made my vacation last 2 days because I was beyond disappointed.
