Enjoy a stay right out of Gilligan's Island with a hut and hammock. There is a separate bathroom with shower which is clean and modern. The entire homestay was recently built. Somethings need mentioning. First, the place is a short but steep climb from the road. You will need your own transportation (scooter/motorcycle would be best) to get to the next down for places to eat. There is one restaurant across from the homestay but it was closed during Covid. Second, the hut is not sealed so you will need to sleep in a mosquito net.
Now let's talk about the best part. The host Valarie, or Warin which is her Thai name, will go out to make sure you have a great experience. Warin is from France but has been living in the Chiang Kong area for several years and will be a great resource and guide for things to do in the area. During my stay, the villages were closed to visitors due to Covid so we went on a hike in he nearby forest. As Covid restrictions end, she will be able to take you to visit these villages if you have any interest.
Also the views of the Mekong are fantastic. This is a good place to relax and chill.
