The hotel is near the bus station and a fair distance from the main city restaurants. The rooms were decent in terms of cleanliness and spacious enough.

Good simple hotel and rooms with onsen
Nice simple 200 or so room hotel up in the hills of Hakone. Definitely nothing fancy and no nearby restaurants within easy walk, but small and comfy rooms at a reasonable price.
I was there for golf the next day and drove, so easy one night stay before golfing and returning back to Tokyo. Nice onsen baths, and good basic accommodation.

A short bus ride to the hakone pirate ships. Catch the pirate ships to the hakone shrine and a 711. No restaurants near hotel.

This was a great hotel to stay at, it is very easy to get to all of the touristy spots of Hakone with the boat port at the bottom of the road and a bus stop right at the bottom of the driveway. Rooms very of a good size too and were a mixed western style with a Tatami area too and even got a free jelly in the fridge every morning. Views of Mt Fuji from the stairway and roof are a plus too.

Pleasantly surprised to find out that we had a great view of Mount Fuji from the grounds. There was public as well as private onsen which was great. Food in the hotel was good but trying to find alternative places to eat around the vicinity proved to be a challenge.

Get what you pay for
The onsen are indoors and industrial - they don't take advantage of the beauty in the area. All rooms are smoking. I was there on a Monday night and the nearby restaurants were closed and I didn't have a dinner reservation at the hotel so was refused service. The hotel did have a hot food vending machine. Very inexpensive hotel at least.

Peaceful location with a ghost town feeling.
This hotel is perfectly located in a peaceful place. If you travel by public transport, hahahaa be prepared to walk a lot. No restaurant or other sources of food is nearby. We book this hotel thinking the Onsen experence would be good, but nope it was very old place, not as clean we thought too. the rooms were very old. You really need to rent a car if u need to stay here and go around places. if the weather is bad the public transport will be stopped and we feel it like a ghost town after 5 or 6 pm. It will be good for locals as they drive and the restaurants only service tradition Japanese food. not then best place for foreign travelers. After all your stay, be waiting for a surprise for a bill on the usage of Onsen 300 yen per head. I don't know why I was asked to pay, as I got the key they said all is free. when asked for explanation hahaaa.. good if u can understand Japanese. Anyway, I will have to write to hotels.com to see about this matter.

Onsen Lover
Good thing about this hotel is you can have onsen and private onsen for compliment
