This was our first time to Mazatlan, and we went for the 4/9/2024 eclipse so there was a lot going on. City has much more of an authentic Mexican feel and certainly less Americanized than Cancun. In town a lot to eat and do. The market is a must do!

We fell in love with Mazatlan on our first trip four years ago. Is it all beautiful, no, but overwall it is a wonderful city and we will continue to visit. The presence of military/police/militia was much higher this year, but we were never afraid.

Love the colonial downtown and the great restaurants in el centro! Lots of live entertainment- great music scene! The people who live in Mazatlan are really kind and lots of English spoken although we speak Spanish. Great value for the dollar.

Mazatlan is a hidden gem. There's 10 miles of beach. People there are very friendly and actually smile at each other. I saw lots of courtesy with traffic and people just enjoying being there.

El acuario vale mucho la pena. Recorrer el malecón es muy bonito. Es una ciudad que combina vacaciones para la familia o salir entre amigos.

Beach is wonderful. Water divine. Everything is close in the centro historico.
"Cid Castilla was very clean, staff was very attentive, rooms are a great size, AC and fan worked great! Plenty to do around. Only bad thing in order to get a chair at pool you must go down at 7am to get your towel and put on a chair like everyone does or else they are taken all day. Beach is super full every day, no room to lay and relax."
"Great beach front toom with a beautiful beach view. The place and friendliness of the staff was awesome! Everyone was alway so helpful and always happy, smiling. We love this, they acknowledge you at all times. The room was clean, Housekeeping came daily. Will be coming back!"
"I loved the hotel we stayed at in Mazatlán! Our bus arrived at 10am and they let us check in early, which was such a nice surprise. The staff was super friendly and helpful. We asked for a blanket, and they had it ready for us right away. The next day when we went out, we came back to a little swan made out of towels and even a bow on the toilet paper — it was such a sweet surprise. The hotel felt very secure too. One day, we saw a group of guys trying to hang around the parking area, and security kindly asked them to leave since they didn’t have hotel bracelets. That made us feel even safer.
