Loved the dinner, views, sauna and swims from the pier. Would have been lovely to have some walks directly from the hotel, but you had to drive everywhere unfortunately. There were woods to the side of the hotel, but no real pathways through.

Very welcoming Staff! Picturesque location with views of the Atlantic from our room! Spa facilities were great too. Salt water swimming pool is warm and comfortable to swim in, as well as the use of the sauna and steam room, there are some nice walking spots around the property too and coral beaches only a 10 min drive away. Would highly recommend to anyone passing or driving the coastal route to/from Clifden to stop by as you won’t be disappointed!

It's a fabulous place in a beautiful setting. The food in their restaurant is great and the staff is exceptionally friendly and attentive. The only reason I gave less than five stars on property condition is because the rooms don't have temperature controls or even fans to move air. Furthermore, the windows don't have screens so they don't want you to open them and let the midges in. Maybe it was just our room. That said, I would certainly stay here again. It's a very well kept and we'll staffed place in a unique setting right on the water.

Our stay at Screebe House was incredible. The staff were warm and welcoming, the property, gardens, and estate I would describe as elevated classic country house style with hunting and fishing themes. The house is situated on the water near the Connemara area with views of the swans and lovely landscape. The restaurant and bar provided a 5 star and personal service experience. The dinner and breakfast were exceptional! Although all of the other guests were adults, my 13 year old daughter was provided with attentive service and consideration for her needs during our stay. The beds and duvets were dreamy. The pool and spa experience were included with our stay. This was one of our highlight stays while on a 2 week driving trip in Ireland. I cannot recommend Screebe House enough.

We booked a suite for a two night stay thinking it would probably have a view of the sea, but no just overlooked the swimming pool roof. A notice on the room wall advisers to keep the bedroom windows shut due to midges but rather than put up notices it would have been preferable to install insect screens especially as there's no air conditioning. The emperor sized bed was overly soft and two single duvets kept falling off. It was explained that in Germany two single duvets on a double bed are the norm !! Very uncomfortable sleep. Despite being a suite, there was no television or charging point for a razor/shaver. Evening meal and breakfast most enjoyable.

It has been about 8 months since I stayed at the Screebe in the priciest seaview room. This place could be better. The most unpleasant experience was that our room washcloths were "made" by cutting old towels down to size with two sides of the cloth just frayed. It was very odd, but it seemed wrong. I saw a maid working in another room wash out and hand dry a drinking glass with one of the hand towels. The hardware for the shower was broken... feeble would be a better word. We stayed in March and it took several tries to get heat sent to the room on the first night. The coffee service is in a hallway landing and it is a very loud Keurig machine, so we got to hear everyone making coffee in the morning. The spa towels were tired, brown, with the embroidered girdles shrinking signifying their age. The hot tub was nice, but its all hands-on to remove the cover. Not something that a senior person can do alone. Lastly the dinner was superb on both evenings, but the breakfast was inconsistent and on both days, my order which was to be two eggs was just one... the smaller of the options. the buffet meat looked a little bit like it came from a LIDL packet of meats and wasn't exactly abundant (which is ok considering the small number served), and all the plates were from Ikea... a place like this speaks to more authenticity. The staff was very amiable though. All that I mention are easily improved. Otherwise excellent place.
