For a high plateau plain town, I was very attracted to it by the friendliness of people, numerous services on the main street. I was surprised by the winery and vineyard, pistachio farms and processing, and mountain views as well as ski resorts.

Alamogordo is a nice little town. There was a farmers market Saturdays. Not a lot of gourmet dining, LesCombes was the best. White Sands, petroglyphs, lava beds all pretty close.

The zoo is a great way to spend an hour or so and only a few dollars. Caliche's Frozen Custard is a nice stop after a day at White Sands. Bring water!

Nice friendly town with a laid back attitude. If you like inexpensive hand crated jewelry this is the place to go.
"Comfortable for my family of 5. Good location for getting to White Sands National Park and town. Kids had a fun time in the pool which was very clean. "
"The bed was super comfy, a little soft so if you like more firm beds these aren’t the beds for you. The room was so clean and the location was perfect to get around! The pool was ok, it needed more water in it. My kids were excited the TVs were Roku so we could connect to Netflix and chill with movie night! Overall great stay! The breakfast was a typical waffle, muffins, grab and go style. Still yummy! "
"The hotel and location were very nice. It was easy to get into and out of, and the staff was very pleasant. The shower was a little small for me, but that's not a major problem. The a/c worked wonderfully, the room was clean and the beds were comfortable. What more could you ask for. "
