Complicada, no había refrigerador en la cocineta, las llaves del agua no servía, no había suficientes utensilios de cocina, mi esposo e hijo tuvieron que bajar de otra habitación un refrigerador se no enfriaba, jacuzzi no servía, piscina con agua muuuy helada, cero atracciones cerca, ruidoso por las noches, definitivamente no volvería, me he hospedado en muchos hoteles y ninguno tan malo como este, de verdad, no reserven, pedimos el check out antes de la hr.

Enjoyable time.
I have been to Casa Iguana numerous times and I am always pleased with the service and the location. It is a peaceful little corner of paradise that has its own pool but is less than a 10 minute walk to the sweet little beach. The kitchenette lends itself to a walk up into town for local groceries and some homemade meals. There is a restaurant on site with several more excellent ones in town. During the day there are several locations on the beach that serve drinks and food. This hotel is old Mexican in style and is starting to show its age. The beds are comfortable with wooden frames, the couch is a foamy on a wooden frame, table and chairs are heavy wood. If you have an issue with mold do not stay on the lowest floor as it backs into the hillside and holds more moisture than up on the higher floors. By the way, there is no elevator. All in all a lovely, quiet place to spend a few days or, if you are like me, a few weeks.

Price and location make this property a gem
This was our 4th stay at Casa Iguana and we will return. Our room was very clean. You get 2 bedrooms, a kitchen and living area. There's no TV in the bedrooms; however, there were many channels to choose from and our reception was excellent. There are some minor cosmetic issues that could be attended to. And garbage around the property outside our room could be picked up. There were some people partying so there were a lot of cups, cans, and noise. BUT... the price is so reasonable and breakfast was very good. The air conditioner worked very well in our room. If you're looking for a 5-star hotel, this is not it. But if you're looking for a nice place, it's great. We were on the 4th floor and there are no elevators so be prepared for steps! We love the location as the ocean is about a 5-minute walk. The zoo is about 5 minutes the other way. The bus stop is very close and you can ride to Puerto Vallarta for $1 (for 2). Excellent restaurants such as El Jacalito and Tony's. The Patio del Cuale was excellent one night and good the other. We saw so many whales on this trip it was magical.

Quiet for the most part and close by bus to everything in the area If action is what you want go to pv If you like doing hikes and that kind of adventure stay in mismaloya and the iquana is a good option

The Casa Iguana is one of those hidden gems if you're expectations are for a low key, good value vacation with a good mix of things to do. It's an older hotel, somewhat dated and could use some upgrades like new, more comfortable pool and balcony chairs. Other than that, the rooms are well designed, good air conditioning and quiet. The staff are pleasant and hard working and they keep the place clean. It's in super walkable location and only about 500M one way to the beach and 500M the other way into the village. Lots if dining options and places to sit at the beach and many good restaurants within an easy walk from the hotel. Attractions in the village include the zoo, a butterfly museum, a tequilla factory and more. No discos, sports bars or chains. There is a beautiful little river that runs all the way through town and it is right across the street from the hotel. The beach in town is small but it's much calmer than the ones in PV and doesn't get the big waves. My wife and I are in our 60's and in decent condition. We walked everywhere we went and felt very safe and enjoyed interacting with local people. Your biggest danger is crossing the street at the corner. In summary, if you want luxury, go stay at the Barcelo. If you want great value and have average expectations, you will be pleasantly surprised by this place. It will be our 1st choice on subsequent visits to the PV area.

I love this older quaint hotel and Mismaloya!! The small village has a few restaurants and small grocery stores with an Oxxo attached to the hotel. The beach is close, and although small, is swimable and serviced for food, drinks and umbrellas. The bus is just down the road if you want to spend the day in Puerto Vallarta or go further south to Boca Tamatlan. At the hotel your room has 2 bedrooms with air conditioning in both room, a bathroom, where you need to let the shower run for a bit to get hot water, a kitchen with a small fridge(no freezer), stove top (no oven), a living/ dining area and a balcony. This is a super economical choice especially if you want a more quiet authentic Mexican experience
