Unfortunately it wasn’t the 5 star experience we are used to when staying at Alexander house when it came to the room and restaurant.
The staff are all amazing though and will immediately fix any issues raised.
Was just shame on first impressions when walking into a very tired room which was nowhere near worthy of a 5 star category - even if it was the basic room. We had a broken iron, broken plug sockets, wallpaper peeling from ceiling and walls, cracks apparent everywhere and just very tired woodwork/tiles throughout.
Management were great and moved us to a junior suite for the trouble and were also in agreement with us.
As for the restaurant, there were also issues here. We ordered the £100 cote du beouf, which not only came out to us 50 minutes after ordering, but was stone cold along with all of the side dishes. It took another 2 attempts to get this right, the second time the waiter said he didn’t even bring it out to us when he checked the temperature first. I guess third time lucky is always a charm but obviously we were waiting well over an hour by now for our food. The manager was kind enough to give us the bottle of wine we ordered on the house for the issues.
We were celebrating joint birthdays (big 40) so it was a bit of a shame to experience the above, but the staff did what they could to still make it special so thank you.
