The owner was so sweet and they left us the sweetest note. For the most part it was quiet, we saw a few raccoons which was fun and the lodge cause a cute vintage charm. Just outside of the city with a location easy to get to and from every where. I HIGHly recommend staying if you want to stay in a time capsule.

I traveled for work for several years. I generally stayed in the Hilton brand of motels. I can say that for an independent motel this motel would keep up with their standards. The motel was remarkably clean from the lobby to our room. The staff were extremely friendly and professional. I spoke to other guest and discovered that they were repeat customers. I will definitely stay here again and highly recommend it.

The refrigerator in our room was not working (it was plugged in but not cold). The air conditioner worked well but was noisy. We had a room on the backside (away from the street) and it was very quiet. Nice patio/deck area for picnics, where we ate our dinner.

When checking in, the owner, who was working the front desk, gave us our room key. When we went to goninto our room, we opened the door, and there were 2 men already in the room on the beds. We left and went back to the front desk. While we understand that mistakes happen, when we have children with us, it is unacceptable. If ahe gave us access to someone else's room, then she could give someone else access to our room. Again, we have children with us. And not too far down the road they just caught a murderer, so we're a little extra cautious. Instead of being understanding and cancelling our stay so we can go somewhere else, she changed our room number (after being told we didnt feel safe staying there), yelled and laughed at us, and threatened to call the police! Will NEVER stay here, nor recommend it to anyone, unless they want to get yelled at. We left the room key she tried to give us, went somewhere else, and they were like, "Yeah, shes the crazy lady." Like it was locally known. We did not get our money back.
