Not a five star experience, more like 3 star
Stayed here over Christmas and it was well below what I expected from a five star hotel. The only good thing was the location from the central station. It’s literally across the road when you exit from the front end. Check in wasn’t great, it felt like we were an inconvenience. And it took so long anytime we needed the front desk. The room on our first night was on the 2nd floor near the lifts. We were woken up at 3am but two howling women who must have had a good night out and were laughing hysterically for about 15 mins. We paid for an upgrade and got the 12th floor. Wasn’t any better. They need to sound proof the rooms. The amenities are poor quality. The breakfast wasn’t great. The hot food was luke warm and bland. The coffee was disgusting so we only ate there once. Not worth the price. The worst part was my partner got food poisoning from the room service curry on our 2nd night! It didn’t look good when it arrived and so he was sick for 3 days. we couldn’t book dinner in the hotel restaurant Millen, it was booked out. If you’re looking for luxury and good service, don’t stay here. It felt like a dated 3 star with old towels and linen. Very disappointed. Customer service needs improvement. Such a strange experience. Won’t stay here ever again.
