We liked our stay at Stefano House. It's kind of a funky little hotel that was very centrally located for our stay in Rome. The walls of the Vatican are right across the street - you can't get much closer than that! The room was immaculately clean. This was advertised as a room for 3 people but the larger bed would have been very "cozy" for 2 people and the smaller bed, which was about a foot off the floor, would have been okay for a child but my son - who was definitely not a child - slept in it. He didn't say that the bed was uncomfortable, so I guess he slept okay. The larger bed was very comfortable.
The building has a great elevator once you figure out how to work it, so you don't have to lug bags up the stairs.
The building is kind of a mystery from the front - one has to look a bit before you realize that the hotel is actually in the building. The one downside of our stay was that there is a cafe directly in front of the building, which was directly below our 1st floor window. We had the window open at night and got a lot of noise from below until about 2 a.m. Not a lot you can do about that - shutting the window didn't block out the noise.
I appreciated the prompt communications I received from the hotel staff. My son checked us in, so I never did have any direct contact with the hotel staff, but we texted and were able to get questions answered, check out, etc. Both of us would stay there again, but maybe on a higher floor.
