My family is really into finding cool trails, gem mining, and cavern delving - Blowing Rock is solidly in the middle of a whole network of those exact things. It has great access to the Blue Ridge Parkway too!

Close to the Blue Ridge Parkway. Less than 2 miles to Thunder ridge overlook where I went to view the sunset. It was really beautiful.

Must see the Ben Long frescoes at Rumple Presbyterian Church! Great tour and stories. Don't miss the Museum (Brahms). Love store Neaco! The Social on Main is fantastic for breakfast. So many friendly shop keepers. Bass Lake walk is our favorite AM

We've been visiting Blowing Rock for about 30 yrs now. We've always come there in the Fall. This was our 1st summer visit. The weather was refreshing! Cool evenings & mornings. And only high in the low 70's! We live in Chas SC. It's been 95+for 2 mon

This was the best side of Blowing rock. Close to food and shopping but no crowds. Very quiet and pleasant.
