Bathroom radiator was dirty, floor not clean, very noisy room as all noise from outside came through. Website indicated kitchen but did not say shared. Kitchen fridge was disgusting, deep freeze had open frozen meat and loose vegetables - perfect for bacteria.

It’s a good hotel in the centre of the city . Very clean. I had the room on 2 nd floor and strived bit late from meeting. There was a gentleman outside the door smoking who got me-in and checked in. I asked for fire door etc and he told me . The room was clean , there was a kettle but no tea cups saucers ! No bins in the room or toilet. There was only one plug right under the table which was difficult to get to. Soap dispenser in shower was not working. If you can sort these little things , it will qualify for excellent. Thanks

Comfortable bed

Good communication regarding check in and friendly greeting at reception. Comfortable bed. Building a little tired, but reasonably clean (a few cobwebs around the ceiling). Replacement window in the room but original old window in the bathroom. Needed the window open at night (no air conditioning) and on Saturday night there was some road noise. Only three pillows, but we did not ask for an extra so another my have been available on request. Bedding was clean and good quality. We did not use the shared kitchen and lounge facilities but they appeared to be quite spacious and clean. Parking is very limited (three spaces) and based on previous reviews we decided to park in a nearby street rather than get hemmed in. Used as a base to attend a one day cricket match: a 40 minute walk to the ground.

Worst stay ever

The room and bathroom was dirty. There were lines scribbled on the floor with a marker. The blinds wouldn’t stay up. The mattress was lumpy. The pillows were yellow under the covers. The mirror in the bathroom started at 5’ high so you could only see the top of your head. The shower head wouldn’t stay up, so you had to hold the shower head to wash. The second overhead shower head didn’t even work but as it was facing the screen and wouldn’t straighten, I guess that was a good thing. The photos show a fridge etc in the room and it’s called an Aparthotel, so I thought it had a fridge in the room, but it has a communal kitchen like a hostel

Very disappointing

This room is incredibly basic to say the least... there was no soap in the dispenser, the walls were peeling in the bathroom and there were only two cups, one saucer and one spoon - no coffees or teas as shown in the photos. The fan in the bathroom stopped and started every 5 seconds. Very disappointing. I did not stay and found another hotel in close proximity. The Manager called me to offer a refund if I was going to leave. I left and still have not received anything. I do not how this hotel has received the high rating that it has. It should be a lot less.

6/10 Good

It's relatively cheap so I wasn't expecting the Ritz and that's fine. Importantly, the bedding, towels and shower were clean enough and on the surface things were OK. However, the kettle was extremely grimey inside to the point where I didn't use it and I'm not that fussy. Looked like some food residue left in there where a previous tenant has boiled something other than water and the it's just been giving a rinse. Shower gel dispenser was empty which was annoying and the place could probably do with a deep clean every so often. The room was also pretty baron and depressing in terms of decor, escaped for the evening to a localish pub down the road and couldn't wait to get out in the morning. If I stay in Leicester again I'll choose somewhere else for similar value but I would stay again if this was my only option given it's low price. I just wouldn't really look forward to it. Staff at check-in were helpful though and there for what I needed. Also able to get a parking spot without having to pay a charge which is also a plus point.

Basic room for a basic price

Easy to find but very little onsite parking. Reception staff were polite. Room basic but reasonably clean. Could do with a lick of paint and a bit of maintenance (shower dripped all night), towel rail loose on wall. But bed was comfy and good local info in the folder. There is very little sound insulation! Got woken up at 6am on Sunday morning by two men having a very loud conversation which went on and on! Woken up a couple of times in the night by other guests too. Overall, you get what you pay for; it was a decent enough bed for the night but glad it was only one night.

2/10 Poor

Nightmare. Worst hotel experience I have ever had!

Absolutely awful. Upon checking in I realised my room (room 9) was directly above the kitchen of the burger place next door, the ventilation system for which is right underneath the floor, with the venting right next to the room window! The entire room absolutely stank of stale burger grease and the air was thick with oil. Both the wooden floor and the pages of guidebook on the bed were stuck together with grease. The ventilation vibrated the entire room, and was incredibly loud. There was constant banging and crashing from the kitchen below. The whole first floor wing of the building was incredibly warm, presumably from the kitchen below as it wasn't a warm day. My only hope was that after the burger place closed at 2am they would turn off the ventilation... 3am came and it was still going. After 3 hours of trying to sleep in that hell hole I decided to end my stay in Leicester early. I threw my key card in the box at reception and made the 2 hour drive home, leaving my friend who I'd booked a different room for. Completely ruined my weekend plans. How anyone can think this is an acceptable place to have a anyone (let alone a paying guest) sleep is absolutely beyond me. I'd go so far as to say environmental health should investigate, because I'm not convinced it is even safe. I'd like to request a full refund for my stay, as well as my friends room which I paid for.
