We loved staying here for the night. The spa was so relaxing after a few hiking stops on the way. Bed super comfy and all the creature comforts of home.

Comfortable and warm

Our little cabin was cozy and easy to access. The bed was relatively comfortable but theres not a great deal of space to manouvre around it easily. The heater is a godsend on cold nights and heats up the room fairly quickly. It was a relatively simple cabin, but it had everything we needed and we were comfortable.

Excellent self contained unit (clair). Had everything we needed for self catering. Was warm, comfortable and quiet. Bed was great and location was perfect for exploring nearby national park. Only downside was no free wifi. Would definitely recommend.

The cabin was very clean & comfortable. It was very well equipped & perfect for an overnight stay. The lady who checked us in was not welcoming or friendly at all. Not sure if she was the owner but a smile goes a long way!
Penny, 1-night trip

10/10 Exceptional

Easy and efficient checkin. Spotless room. Close iconic pub with great meals. Very comfy bed and room.
Rob, 1-night trip

Chalets are great, fire was going when we got there. Louise the manager could brush up on her customer skills. Derwent Bridge Hotel 700mt away has great meals.
Lawrence, 2-night trip

10/10 Exceptional

It was clean, well apppointed, has a laundry, grab rails in shower and toilet, big shower, plenty of space, great beds, heating, lovely outdoor deck, beautiful grounds, private. A nice touch was that heaters were on when we arrived so whole chalet was warm. Would absolutely recommend these chalets.

6/10 Good

The accommodation was basic but clean and comfortable. Certainly no personal touches. Abrupt notices about her precious cereal a bit insulting. The pub was great. Meal was excellent.

10/10 Exceptional

Modest exterior hides impeccably clean, well provisioned and comfortable accommodation. The small verandah looks on to bush which comes alive after dusk with all sorts of interesting noises. The torch provided was very useful to see some very cute Glider faces in the spot light.

Great stay, overpriced for our needs. Town full

Derwent Bridge was full an we selected the last available property that met our needs. Great property but overpriced easily the most expensive night stay of any in our 3 weeks in Tassie. Room would have been great for a family and the facilities were excellent. Way beyond our needs at the price. Still we found a good place to sleep for the night.

Loved the place, customer service from owner was appalling. She was arguementive, bossy not a nice lady
Karen, 1-night trip

4/10 Fair

Loved the cabin however the experience was ruined by a very surly and rude lady on reception. Personally we felt she is not suited to being the face of the business, she was complaining that we were 25 minutes early to check in time and commented people should read the paperwork properly. All other accommodation places in Tassie were brilliant. Please put someone else in charge of looking after guests here.
Lynne, 1-night trip

4/10 Fair

It was average. The bed was pretty uncomfortable. There was no complementary items, all had to be paid for. My partner and I had stocked up prior to arrival at the Ouse IGA so we were fine but we found it pretty steep. The actual room was clean and okay. The lack of wifi was surprising. We only stayed one night. The owner seemed put off by us trying to just check in.

Not value for money

Not the worst place we’ve stayed but not value for money. General condition was fine but shower is very tight (nice hot water though), bed was terrible (too hard) and pillows weren’t much better. Floor, creaked badly - enough to wake during the night, tv was tiny but did work. No complementary WiFi but could get Telstra signal (that’s important). Given that there is virtually nothing food wise for breakfast in close proximity, the jars of cereal that were in the room were at an additional cost. Given the cost of the stay, that’s obscene. Finally, you are not really made to feel welcome, actually more like an imposition, but help is given reluctantly. Location is good for the local attractions but we would look to stay elsewhere given the opportunity again.

6/10 Good

We didn't even get a 'hello' upon arrival. A piece of paper and pen was placed in front of us while the host walked past off to turn off the intercom we used as the office was vacant. We were told that you have to "turn it off like a phone" - we didn't know as there were no instructions. When we left the office we hadn't been given the wifi password and it wasn't in the room. When we went back to get it there was still no hello, just a "close the door" and a handwritten slip of paper was given to us - no apology. We needn't have bothered as the wifi was intermittent anyway. A shame the customer service was poor as the room was nice.

2/10 Poor

This was by far our worst stay in Tasmania. Mainly based on the unwelcoming attitude of the receptionist. Check in was 3pm .... 1 hour later than any other check in we had in Tasmania. We turned up at 2.50pm. The receptionist made us wait until 3pm on the dot before she would look at any paperwork ( along with a NZ couple who were also denied early check in). When she did open her door at 3pm she was very unwelcoming ... totally the opposite of all of our other experiences in Tasmania. In the room it stipulated that if you used any dishes or cutlery, you would be expected to wash them, dry them and put them away, otherwise you would be charged an additional tariff. The stay at this premises at Derwent Bridge left a sour taste in our mouth ... and if doing the trip again, i would have by passed this location and spent the extra day in either Cradle Mountain or Hobart.

Individual unit, comfortable and clean. Limited dining options but the hotel down the road has nice food. Close to Lake St Clair.

The chalet was basic but clean. The location was perfect for us and easy walking distance to the local pub for dinner. Glad it was for one night only.
