Worn out

Worn out hotel, empty, weird check in where he calls someone to check in, room was clean and decent.

When I first looked at the photo of the exterior , I was reminded of the hotel in ‘The Shining’ The desk clerk had the vibe of a stoned elderly hippy and had to call someone else to take my credit card info. The lovely views of the mountain were a plus. The 1970’s decor did distract from dingy towels, etc The construction has a wrap around balcony which can be entered from any room but definitely did not feel secure. The graffiti by the entrance is off putting I’m sure this is an affordable ski lodging base for groups of young people and families. On arrival and departure other putative guests stopped us to ask if the hotel ‘was okay’ … of course we knew why the gentleman who asked upon our arrival was asking after meeting the desk clerk. On departure, we answered by saying ‘we’re still alive’

We had the hotel to ourselves. Staff was amazing and they washed our laundry because their guest laundry was down.

The Shining?

The check-in person seemed weird, and he had to call someone to do the check-in (I don't know why). There was no one there when I checked out. The hotel needs a sign out front.

Wonderful stay! It was enough for what we needed. We stayed one night, it has a nice trail with a river running by it and a small pond with fish. Staff was friendly and informative. The place itself is a little outdated but it was ok! It had a pool, a gym area, a sauna, and hot tubs with a view. Very nice place. 😊

2/10 Poor

Nobody at the front counter, you will end up waiting 3 hours in order to simply check-in... This is your typical trucker stop lodge with zero frontdesk staff.

Service was great, hotel is from the 70s and needs an update.

I’m not sure if they used ai or special filters for Expedia photos, pretty gross overall and all the amenities are super run down. Also deceptively far away from town.

One working ice machine for the entire building. Three hot tubs, none working. Coffee machine in the room was broken.

The location is a challenge for anyone running a hotel. Not in a community and at a very high altitude, it's got to be difficult to keep up. It does feel like investment dollars are needed. The only complaint we had was there is ZERO signage for this hotel right now. Not sure why, maybe waiting on a replacement, but not even a piece of paper in the window telling you this is a hotel.

Traditional hotel, restaurant and bar - was perfect for a one night stop
Andrew, 1-night trip

6/10 Good

The place is in nice proximity to Monarch Mtn, but it is a tired property, with rather thin walls.
John, 2-night trip

The air in our room did not work and the hot tub was not working
Amber, 2-night trip

2/10 Poor

Terrible!

When we arrived, there wasn’t anyone in the lobby front desk area. But however, there was a note to use the walkie talkie to let someone know we were there to check in. We finally were checked in and given a key. A real key. Our room was in the basement. The room was very dirty. The toilet had poop in it. It wouldn’t flush. The bed looked like something out of the 70’s. I strongly suggest rethinking about staying here. It was gross!

Cute and Quite, but outdated

We enjoyed a nice and quiet stay. Rooms and Lodge in general seemed very outdated, but clean. We stayed at a time that was not very busy so staff seemed very minimal, It was hard to find someone when we needed anything. Ice machine did not work. Bed was comfy and water was hot with good pressure. Very much enjoyed wondering around the property and taking in all the natural beauty of the area.

It is older style lodge with unique ambience. It lacks upgrades but the room was large, queen beds very comfortable, great heating and TV with HBO and other channels. The biggest advantage is very close distance to ski resort on Monarch slopes.
