The people at the front desk was untrained and not aware of the benefits that gold members at hotels.com have.
When I explained to them that it’s a free upgrade of possible, then he said “oh yes , but unfortunately we are fully booked and it’s not possible” . And then I have to show him that that was a big lie. I could book many rooms online and it was for sure possible to upgrade me. After arguing about that , it was finally possible . But it’s not a great experience to start your stay at the hotel like that. I was very disappointed and the staff didn’t even say sorry for the mistake. The hotel is nice and fun layout. But the staff I met and the service from them is terrible. Not worth the money.
Maybe it’s okay that the staff is not trained good enough , but it’s for sure not okay to lie to your guests! That is below every standard !
The room they gave me was a loft it’s a cool room , but very bad design and I see it as a safety issue, that when the bathroom door is closed, then you can’t exit the room. A closed bathroom door is blocking for the frontdoor to open! It’s very bad. I can’t believe that this can pass a fire inspection. I mean in case of an emergency , and the bathroom door is closed. Then the front door is blocked by the handle of the bathroom door.
