hotel was ok, but i checked in at night (the staff not really friendly) but it's fine i guess because i booked on 31 dec, i know how it feels to work in new year's eve (maybe not in the mood to work :) ) but the thing that make me difficult = it was no towel (not sure it's since beginning or it just started due to covid-19 pandemic)

Construction which was ongoing was big minus, there were insects in the bathroom. Wifi was so-so

It’s a nice ‘no frills’ hotel

We were given 3 very rundown family rooms with air-con not working, door cannot open easily which need male adult to pull inwards. One of the room with reflecting sound by door never close properly according to the hotel staffs. The corridors of the hotel rooms are so humid that can be suffocated. The staffs mentioned that we have booked the old wing which internet posting did not mentioned old wing or new wing of this hotel. Reception staffs are rude and no patience. The manager, Mr Ow tried his best to settle us with New Wing but need to top up even though we are offered to downgrade to one standard and deluxe room with additional mattress not extra bed. The reception refused to give us a bill stated what are the top up in details. They just issued a standard payment voucher stated upgrading rooms. This is cheating. This hotel cannot rate at 3 stars. No amenities around the hotel.

Front desk staff helpful and speak English well. Room was large and bright. Cleaning staff very good. TV reception not good. There is an excellent cafe around the corner called DoubleShot. Can walk from hotel to the Botanic Gardens in around 12 minutes. Can also walk to shopping centres on Gurney Drive in around 18 minutes. Overall, I would stay in this hotel again. Good value for standard room
