Nice place to stay, comfortable with lovely ambience. House keeping boys esp javeed, mustaq & qaisal were instant in responding to our needs overall stay was pleasant. Would definitely recommend
Went on a family trip. The location of the Hotel is simply awesome. The sound of water flowing down the river is simply mesmerising. The staff is welcoming and helpful. Though the bathroom needs some urgent repairs.
I had reserved 2 rooms, double occupancy (i.e. 2 people per room), I was traveling with a friend and we each wanted our own rooms, and maybe the wives might want to join us. When we reached the hotel after a 4 hour drive, I asked they give us the rooms with a view of the river, and was told by the person checking me in that only double occupancy rooms had this view, to which I responded I did indeed have double occupancy rooms, I was asked to provide proof, and I had to provide a printout of the expedia reservation and they were forced to provide us rooms with a view. I asked for a manager and the guy said he was the manager. Obviously, they should know what rooms we had reserved, either they are inefficient or weasels. My rooms did not have a shower head, there was a bucket, and the wash basin faucet would not turn off unless pressed in. I finally called expedia and they upgraded me to a suite on the ground floor. There is no generator for the frequent power losses. The saving grace was the other staff, such as housekeeping and the people in the kitchen were extraordinarily good, they were very very nice and accommodating
Beautifully situated along a river with a stunning view over mountains, with nice staff.
They could give more informations about what to in Pahalgam, food was standard for mid Indian standard but nothing special.
this hotel is over valued . Rooms are in bad condition , curtains torn up do not cover full window , linen and towels etc dirty . They say provide tea maker etc in room , not correct !! The biggest issue was the staff at the reception first said they have no confirmation of our booking , on request they said yes in THE MORNING only they received the confirmation from Hotel. com !! though the room was booked about 3 weeks in advance . NOT RECOMMENDED hotel , except for location
Its an old Heavan on the banks of Lidder river. I give 5 stars for hospitality, food was not bad. However they can really improve on their rooms. But considering a small place like pahalgam it is one of the best that u can bet upon.
The Heevan has a GREAT location, right at the bank of the river Lidder. But alas! That's where the beauty of this hotel ends, for the pathetic service negates every positive. We were three families traveling; landed at the hotel to find that they had messed up the booking and had held only two rooms for us (which they claimed, was because they didn't get the booking from Hotels.com). They later found a third room on the first floor. The rooms themselves are not standard. So, the ones on the first floor have wooden flooring, but my room on the ground floor had a carpet. Ditto for the heaters - my room had a tabletop heater (ineffective) while the neighboring one had a bigger one. The rooms are not in the best state either - my brother in law spent a few anxious moments when the handle on his bathroom door came off, leaving him locked inside. But what took the cake was the check-out. They refused to accept cards because âthe phone line was downâ. They suggested that I go to the market (3 km away) and withdraw cash. The least I expected in case the card machine wasnât working was for them to put up a note at the reception prominently so I'd know when I was checking IN, rather than OUT. As it happened, the phone line was just fine and a few tantrums later, they swiped the card ok! All in all - I came away very disappointed. It's fine to have a great location. But to expect that the locational advantage would gloss over all the inefficiencies is hoping for too much!
We stayed for one night ( Thankfully ) here . At Rs 8500/ a room night ( with Break fast ) . The hotel is in Shambles with torn Carpets , Upholstries , Curtains etc & gives a shaking feeling as if Its Ready to Crumble . Staff is Polite , The Genral Manager is a Fine Man but the Hotel requires big time interiors Renovation & Upkeep .
Till then my suggestion is that if they still want to keep operating the Hotel Heevan in this miserable state then They should Slash their Room Rates to half so as to Justify the Guests Value For His Money .
We did not get a room as it seems a big group had booked the whole hotel and I was told that they do not have my booking in their system - which is based at Srinagar. The hotel manager (Mr. Javed) said that he does not know Hotels.com, and that they are getting the booking from expedia.com. After wasting more than 2 hours of calling Hotels.com customer care thrice with call being put on hold upto 30 minutes each time, Heevan's manager arranged another hotel and that too not a suite which I had booked. Complete waste of time, I am never going to book through hotels.com again - and neither Heevan. Such a shame. NOT RECOMMENDED AT ALL.
Hotel location was great but the condition of room door locks etc were really bad. Food was not of high quality and varieties were limited. Transport arrangements were very quick and overall my stay was ok.
