Cheap hotel near Kokura station w/o windows
The hotel is very close to Kokura station - you can even see it when are you on the skywalk leaving the station. The staff is ok, polite, but does not do anything extra. (I guess you get what you pay for.) The hotel also provides a discount if you have breakfast(?) at its place. (There was something like a cafe just next to the reception.)
The hotel is small, but adequately equipped. Two things that I think are not quite good are as follows. Firstly, it is so dark in the room (the color they used, the decoration). Secondly, there was an "invisible window" which does not let you see what is going on outside. I mean, yes there is a frame of something glass-like, but you cannot see through it. And, I guess you cannot open it (I cannot read the sign in Japanese). However, if you are out almost all the time except sleeping at night, the this hotel is ok.
Personally, I will not stay next time, however, because I do not like staying in the room which I cannot see what is going on outside.
