This place was awesome. Using the Whats App allowed us to communicate directly with them and they always responded within minutes. Every request we had whether it be towels or paper products, they were at our door within 10 minutes with it. I even asked for suggestions on where to watch the NBA playoffs and the place they suggested was fantastic. I will stay here every time I visit Montreal.

The property is nicely renovated and in a very convenient location in regards to Old Montreal, the ViaTrain Station, Metro and the REM. unfortunately a water main had burst in front of the property the same day I checked in, so was unable to have running water or any water for the first 24 hours of my stay.

We had a convenient and comfortable stay. The unit was very clean and that must be a major task considering the heavy use of the property. Little things, like burned out light bulbs, a quirky washer, a hole in the drywall where a larger AC unit had been, a smoke detector hanging by its wires, and scratches on the TV screen, are obvious wear and tear, but there was nothing that was terribly bothersome. We had everything we needed to prepare meals, wash our clothes, and sleep well at night. The location was perfect. Easily walkable to major attractions and so many amazing restaurants. There's a little food market nearby and we stocked the refrigerator with food and wine to enjoy during our stay. There was dish soap, hand soap, laundry soap, dishwasher pods, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, body lotion, coffee, and all the basics kitchen tools provided. The linens were crisp and the pillows were fluffy. We would stay again, though would book more in advance to get a better price.

We stayed for two nights, the apartment was spacious and clean. Although the kitchen was fully equipped we only used the microwave and coffee maker. At the reception desk, the staff was very nice and helpful.

I enjoyed my stay at the Alexander Hotel. On the edge of Vieux Montreal, its location was convenient to the cathedral, archaeological museum, and other sites in old town. The main train station was about 15 minutes' walk, and a metro stop (Victoria Square) was about 5 minutes' walk. There are plenty of restaurants and cafes within 3 blocks or less. A small grocery store was about 15 minutes' walk away. My studio apartment on the 3rd floor was spacious. There was tableware for 4, toaster, coffeemaker, electric kettle, and basic cookware. Two low-grade coffee packets, several English Breakfast tea bags, and a bunch of packets of salt and pepper were provided. Front desk staff were pleasant and helpful, although a few times the desk was unoccupied, requiring several minutes' wait. It was very helpful to be able to leave luggage between checking out and leaving for the airport. The street the hotel is on is quiet. It did not feel unsafe to me, even in the evening, despite not having much traffic, pedestrian or vehicular.

Checking in was very slow, the desk was unattended for quite a while. Once he arrived, very little instruction was given - asked for email to send information to and then instantly went into his cell phone to watch tik tok (could tell from music). We had tiny ants throughout our apartment. Found a pair of socks from previous tenant. Plugs in kitchen wouldn’t work. Took some work to get the tv to connect and work. Beds were very stiff and squeaky with every movement. Aside from all that, location was good but absolutely no parking.

Great clean large apartment room but the check-in process was terrible. Couldn't get in the hotel as arrived late (11pm), no buzzer and door was locked. Wifi was down so they couldn't check me in for 15mins. Room code didn't work to open my room so had to be revised and resent to me. All in all, when I had traveled for 15hrs and it was 5am in my world a poor experience for check-in.

I am a non‑smoker. I was staying here with my two children over Easter Sunday. Didn’t want us to spend it alone, we drove all the way to Montreal to spend it with family and friends. On that day, I had work. I got off a call, happy, and I had ordered lunch for us, my guests and us. One friend asked to smoke. As a non‑smoker and first‑time guest in a Canadian hotel, I hadn’t really registered the no‑smoking sign, and I come from Lebanon and Dubai where hotel rules around smoking are different, so I didn’t realise how strict this policy was. I told my friend to open the window and have his cigarette—that was my mistake, and I accept that. The concierge came to the room several times. Each time I was honest: my friend had smoked, and as soon as the hotel called and told us to stop, we did, and the smoking stopped immediately. Despite this, I was ordered to pack and leave within 30 minutes while alone with two kids, suddenly scrambling to move everything and find another hotel. The manager’s tone felt harsh and completely lacking empathy for our situation. What should have been a special Easter stay became very stressful and upsetting. I respect strict non‑smoking policies, but the way this was handled—treating a brief, honest mistake that stopped right away as something much worse—felt completely disproportionate, with no flexibility or compassion toward a parent travelling with children. I left feeling relieved to be out of this environment and would not stay here again.

Great value for locations. Saves money by having full kitchen. Great location. Be prepared to carry your stuff up a few stairs to get into building. Great staff - helpful and nice
