The Highland Glen Lodge is a classic B&B in the sense, with a beautiful new facility. The hosts are warm and welcoming, the breakfast is excellent, and all-in-all it's the best spot in Anchorage that we know of.

An absolutely BEAUTIFUL stay! The room was so clean, the giant bath tub was to die for! Breakfast was delicious and intimate in the best of ways! I would stay here 100 times over!! Highly, highly recommend!!

This is an elegant, spacious, and beautifully decorated bed and breakfast. It was even better than I had expected. The bed was comfortable, we enjoyed the rooftop hot tub with its view, the coffee and tea service, the early morning breakfast, and the warmth and graciousness of the host family.

We stayed at Highland Glen Lodge on our last night in Alaska. We saved the best for last. There were so many perfect details in this home including, imported tea in our rooms, robes in our room, conversations with the owners, scrumptious breakfast, and beautiful views. It was perfect.

Excellent Find in ANC!
Really comfortable bed - I had a great night's sleep! Beautiful lodge with five rooms, lots of relaxing spaces to hang out, hot tub on the deck next to the rooms, and beautifully landscaped outside. Breakfast served on real China dishes was delicious. Enjoyed a nice visit with fellow guests. Owners were friendly and welcoming, and made check in and out really simple. I'm so glad I found this treasure for a good night's rest while I'm in town.

This is by far equivalent to a 5 Star hotel. The only word that could best describe the entire experience is exquisite. Gwen and Sheila (mother/daughter) were so personable. The room was perfect and the breakfast was healthy and such a beautiful presentation. We loved relaxing in the hot tub while we were washing our clothes in the washer and dryer they provided. If their goal was perfection, they nailed it! Also a bonus was a fabulous and healthy restaurant within 5 miles called South Side Bistro. Would stay here again in a heartbeat!

Quaint and Quiet
The Highland Glen Lodge was such a gem. The house is absolutely beautiful and the location was so serene. The owners were friendly and helpful and have thought of everything for your stay. I did stay with my 11 year old and I might say it is not the best for kids. It was so quiet I was afraid he was going to make noise and disturb others. We whispered the whole time haha. I would definitely recommend to others visiting Anchrorage and looking for a wonderful experience.

Highland Glen Lodge is one of the most charming places I’ve ever stayed. Tucked away just outside the hustle of downtown Anchorage, it feels like you’ve stumbled onto a secret retreat — quiet, cozy, and gorgeous!
The real standout here is the decor. The whole place has this warm, Scottish lodge vibe with tartan touches, classic wood furniture, and little details that make it feel special.
Our room was spacious, comfortable, and beautiful. Breakfast was delicious (yummy crepes and yogurt) and the hosts were incredibly kind and welcoming — the kind of people who genuinely care that you're having a good stay.
If you're looking for something upscale, peaceful, and totally unique, Highland Glen is a perfect pick. It’s a little off the beaten path, in the best way.
