Location was good for Leidsepelein and central Amsterdam. Bus connection just across the bridge for airport. Lovely bars and restaurants very near. Quiet location overlooking canal. When booking 2 single beds.... didn't expect a double bed with 2 X single Duvets.

Old, Tiny but comfortable!

This Hotel had a great location to tour around, walking the old Downtown area of Amsterdam. Being from Canada I'm not quite used to the small rooms, and the tiny elevator etc., but I was grateful that I was in the other building from my friends who were in the main building, and NO ACCESS to an elevator. The stairs are so very tiny and steep, making it difficult to get luggage up the stairs, for older people (like me). But I did have an elevator, so I was grateful! The staff were very friendly and helpful to fix any problem that we had. A plugin was not working on my side of the bed, and they fixed it when I mentioned it. The beds were very comfortable with had nice covers. The room had a kettle, fan, iron, blowdryer and a nice shower. Overall our stay was great, but I'm thankful that i did mnot have to do the stairs like my friends!

Great location, friendly staff but the rooms need an update. Window frames are rotten, matras is not okay, not suitable for two people, we rolled to the middle and slept really badly.

An old favorite, in the heart of Amsterdam. Charming rooms at a good price. Don't expect a flashy four star hotel. This place has much more authentic atmosphere than any corporate facade. Book early, rooms go fast. Update: 8 years later, I still love the Quentin! This trip is definitely worth an update. The rooms are all updated, but the charm is still here! I booked a room for a week, but on the first day, the elevator broke (Things happen. It isn't their fault). Because of my disability, I would have been stuck in the lobby for a lot of my trip. The staff went above and beyond to move me to a more accessible room on the first floor! I am overwhelmed by their hospitality.

Awesome

I really enjoyed the Quentin! The location is excellent and the staff were extremely friendly. The stairs were steep, but I got my exercise! I would gladly stay here again if i find myself in Amsterdam again.

Perfect for an exploring holiday

Stayed for two nights. Couple who were there to explore and not necessarily be in hotel, the room was perfect. Very small room with basic amenities but comfortable bed and modern bathroom. We only had hand luggage so was okay but no life and very narrow stairs so had to carry luggage up 3 floors

The location of the property is really good. The staff were pleasant & helpful. We stayed on the 4th floor. The stairs are very narrow and steep! this is common in Amsterdam and it isn't a reason not to book the hotel. They are steep though! We didn't have the breakfast, but this looked OK, a bit expensive for what you get though and there are a lot of other options that are close to the hotel. We hired some bikes, these were reasonably priced.

AM Lady was friendly at check in. Negative - Bed was horrible as the basement room I was put in hurt my back for days! WiFi issues for two days. Bathroom was really tight! Waiting for hold to release still. Plus - Staff Interaction & Morning Breakfast

Steer Clear

Crazy steep stairs with steps smaller than your foot and no elevator, room had dust everywhere, mold om the bathroom, shower switched between icecold and boiling hot without adjusting it, beds were narrower than my shoulders, ended up sitting car the car for relaxing comfort rather than the room i paid over 5k (NOK) for 2 nights… would look elsewhere if i were you, hotel was also full of 18 year old brits, hanging lut the windows smoking :( i have been to Amsterdam 4 times in 3 months and not been close to a standard this low at the same pricepoint…

Very thin walls and noisy corridors with the cleaners each day. Room decor very grubby and the room was smaller than expected. Scaffolding up around the whole hotel blocking any window view. Bathroom was good though and clean but only one towel each and no hand towel.
