une expérience intéressante!

Très bon séjour dans un hôtel avec un décor "d'une autre époque" très dépaysant et très calme bien que situé en centre ville dans un hutong pékinois typique.

Great location

This hotel is a little hard to find, but is right in the center of where you want to be! The staff was very friendly and spoke English, but could not be counted on for any recommendations.

Palvelu

Henkilökunta erityisesti hotellivirkailija oli hyvin asiaton. Hän väitti sellaisia asia meidän syyksemme, jotka eivät todellisuudessa olleet meidän tekosiamme. Samalla hän myöskin jätti kertomatta asioita ja jouduimme aluksi väärään huoneeseen. Jouduimme maksamaan lisää. Hotellihenkilökunta oli asiatonta ja ammattitaidotonta. Hyvää hotellissa oli kuitenkin se, että se sijaitsi hyvällä paikalla. Sieltä käsin oli helppo liikkua paikasta toiseen. Onni on se, että hotellilla ei tarvitse kuin nukkua.

Bon emplacement

Cet hôtel est une résidence chinoise qui a gardé le cachet du début du XXème siècle. Très bien placé, près de tous les sites à visiter.

Great location but very noisy

The standard rooms near the front of the hotel are very small and not very clean. Since they don't have bathrooms, we used the shared bathrooms which are only tolerably clean. The major drawback is that the hotel is right next to the back a very big shopping mall, which unfortunately was undergoing major construction during our stay. The noise was unbelievably loud and startling, particularly from 11:00 p.m. - 5:00 a.m. In addition, the very squeaky hotel front door would send a jolt to even heavy sleepers. The staff was reluctant to relocate us to the (relatively) quieter rooms until we complained for the second time at 2:00 a.m. The rooms towards the back of the courtyard are much cleaner (and with bathrooms) and quaint, and the noise less deafening. If you can get past the noise, the location is very convenient, walking distance to a subway station and Forbidden City. The hotel is hidden from main street on a relatively unknown (and unmarked) street. It took us over an hour wandering around to find it since the taxi driver does not know about the street either; and the map obtained on this Website did not show the correct location (at least when browsed in the US). If you have Internet access in China, you can get the correct location from Google maps.

Cute hotel in the heart of the Hutongs

First off, if you are arriving to this hotel by taxi, make sure you have the phone number since it is not well known and difficult to find. It is a really cute little place that has a hostel-like feel to it. Rooms are on the small side but clean and have everything you need. Free wifi in the lobby and the courtyard is a nice place to relax or have a meal. The staff were wonderful and very helpful!! As well, the location is superb as it is close to malls, a busy area, and a subway station. Would definitely recommend as a great place to stay for all ages and if we returned to Beijing, would stay here again!

立地はいい。でも…。

王府井にあり、夜帰っても危なくないし、便利。でも周りが開発中で、夜中も工事していたので寝られないほどうるさかった。王府井には世界のチェーンブランドが集まっているだけで、北京ならではのものが少なく、外国人にとっては買い物はそれほど面白みがない。ホテルは四号院式で建物の味わいはあるが、シングルを予約したら部屋は中庭にも面していない昔の門番部屋。トイレとシャワーは外で、おまけに朝はひとつしかないシャワーを誰かが30分以上も占拠。それはなんとホテルのスタッフだった！　北京の物価と照らし合わせると部屋代は高いと思う。

Good location but poor service

A great opportunity lost.as the beautiful old style architecture was not matched by the quality of service.The only English speaking person at the desk was not helpful,although the other two staff.were very obliging within the limitation of lack of English.The hot water system stopped working so unable to have a bath for part of our 5 days stay in their De-lux room.Reluctance to supply any hot water for washing.Would not recommend this hotel with present management.

wonderful stay

The courtyard was so sweet & welcome a refuge from downtown Beijing. Denny, at the desk, was so busy yet always made time to help us plan our transportation for the day. Sharing a washroom was not a problem; definitely recommend this hotel.

The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel's location is excellent and we were pleasantly surprised by the room amenities. The cleanliness of the rooms lowers the quality of this hotel. We had to ask for a room change as the smell of damp was too over-powering, and the staff arranged this as soon as it was possible. My suggestion is to ensure your room is above ground level and then this problem is avoided. The courtyard is beautiful - a real oasis amidst the rush of Beijing.

전통과 편안함을 함께..

북경의 전통 가옥형태인 사합원에서의 여행.. 편안함과 북경의 이국적인 정서를 한번에 느낄수 있는 최고의 호텔이다. 왕푸징과는 걸어서 10분거리. 주변에 먹을것도 볼것도 많았다. 좋은 호텔을 이용할수 있게 해줘서 고마워요...

Great Chinese experience

The Hotel is in a brilliant location. New plaza across the road with 2 floors of eating places. The Hotel is very quiet and breakfast in the courtyard is a wonderful way to start the day. The bed was VERY firm but we slept OK. The staff could not have been more courteous or helpful. The Wang Fu Jing Mall was very close by. Walk to Tian'anmen Square and the Forbidden City.

Great location and historic feeling

Depending on the booked room, very basic to quite comfortable. Fantastic garden, just in the middle of downtown Beijing, just a short walk away from forbidden city and the shopping street

Gut, sauber, ursprünglich

Kleines, eher einfaches, aber sehr sauberes und schönes Hotel. Freundliches, sehr hilfsbereites Personal. Zimmer relativ klein, aber sehr ruhig und mit schönem Innenhof. Perfekte Lage mit Shopping-Meile und verbotener Stadt in Fußwegnähe. Etwas schwer zu finden(insbesondere stimmt die Lage über die Grafik bei Expedia und die angegebene Adresse nicht genau und auch der englische Name nicht mit dem chinesischen überein.)Ließ sich aber telefonisch mit dem gut englisch sprechenden Personal problemlos regeln. Wenn man nicht eine Wellnesfarm und Superluxus, sondern eine gute, günstige Übernachtungsmöglichkeit in zentraler Lage sucht, ist man hier richtig.

Very convenient and comfortable

Jingyuan Courtyard hotel is a wonderful place to stay, a few meters walk from the main shopping district, restaurants and the street food market and the courtyard is a lovely peaceful garden in the middle of the frenzy of central Beijing. The room is very comfortable and the staff friendly and helpful. The only negative is that the lights in the room are very dim.

Not much Hutongs left in this area

Nice hotel with lovely courtyard. Hutong style. Nice room and clean, but the bed was hard (as in many hotels in China). Renovated bathroom, clean and no problem with hot water. However, don't expect to be truly located in Hutongs area, there is not much of the old area left in this location. The hotel is surrunded with tall and modern buildings. However, this offer great location, very close to big shopping malls and many restaurants and shops. Pedestrian street and tourist market walking distance.

The location is convinient if you want to look around Wangfujing Street and Forbidden city. But the hotel was under construction partly when I arrived so it was not so comfortable to stay. I stayed at the single room without washroon and the room has nor clean floor neither clean bed, but had to accept it because it was cheaper than another hotels.

I love this place!

I love this hotel and try to stay there every time I go to Beijing. It is a traditional 300 year old courtyard style house, which is laid out beautifully. It has everything from the most affordable, modest rooms (which do not include a bathroom), to beautifully spacious rooms that do include a bathroom. The location of the hotel is very convenient, especially if you plan to use the Metro while in Beijing. It is closest to the "Dengshikou" station (on line #5), and about a 7 minute walk from there. If you take the "C" exit, cross Dengsi South Street, until you reach "Xitangzi Hutong". Turn right down the hutong, and walk almost all the way to the end of the street. There you will see a traditional gate for a courtyard house marked "No. 35, Xitangzi Hutong". Walk through the gate to the first building and enter. This is the office and breakfast room. Enjoy!
