Review of Hotel VDARA
The check-in lady was cold, hostile, and suspicious of us; definitely prejudiced.
The kitchen had no utensils at all. None at all! We ordered food that came in aluminum and couldn't be heated in the microwave. We requested plates, spoons, and forks for lunch—by phone to the hotel, from our room. They didn't bring any. After 1:30, we asked again. Only an hour later, the second time we asked, did they bring any. Conclusion: the food arrived cold in an aluminum container that we couldn't put in the microwave. No respect for us whatsoever. The kitchen has a stove and microwave, but there are no household utensils: SIMPLY NONE. No plates, no forks, or spoons. Only glasses. The sign says you can request utensils. We asked, and it took all this time! And they brought really bad plastic cutlery that couldn't cut through meat or cheese.
The only way to clean the room and change towels is if you speak to the housekeeping staff in the hallway, if you're lucky enough to find her when you leave. We stayed four nights and one of them charged us $389. I opened a chat on hotels.com, but the guy just kept dodging the issue and didn't resolve anything! We wasted time.
The furniture is brown, almost black. There's little lighting. Conclusion: terrible lighting, a funereal and sad room, with lamps covering the two mirrors in the room. Dark decor, making it impossible to do anything at night. You have to turn on your cell
