If this is a three start hotel, I would hate to see a two. Our room was very shabby, every single item in the room was in disrepair except the sheets (which were very clean). The bedframe was peeling, the toilet seat wouldn't stay up so it would randomly clank down on your back, the chair was coming apart and holes in the weave, bathroom light flickered on and off. No doors on the bathroom cabinets and all the floor was rust stained underneath the sink. No shampoo, just some shower gel. Tub was stained yellow with a ring around it....
The hotel is open 24/7 and right onto the street in a busy area. The lounge/seating area was covered in plastic water bottle packages. Crammed under any surface. Baggage room is a dirty closet in the basement with no one watching it. They send guests down to put their own stuff in so you have to trust your fellow guests not to take your things. Not a good system.
The front desk people were a mix, the guy who checked us in wasn't particularly polite. But there was a woman who was very nice and it felt good to have someone smile and be friendly. They tried to make us pay the city tourist tax twice which felt so odd. Said they didnt have a record of it? It was the first thing we did when checking in.
Overall: dingy hotel in desperate need of a facelift and a DEEP clean. Stay if you have to save $$$ but expect a roadside motel vibe, not a hotel.
