We only stayed until 3am to hike Sherman. However, the room smelled like sewer gas. We opened the window and turned on the fan and that helped. Staff was great and everything else was awesome.

The Hand Hotel was a wonderful place to spend the night. My boyfriend and I did some geocaching in the area and the only bummer to this experience is that we did not encounter a ghost.

Lovely old building with everything one needs. Charming restaurant downstairs, cute town and convenient grocer nearby. So nice to find a unique property that was affordable, too! Would definitely stay again!

The view from the second story deck is the main thing that got us, it is amazing! Unfortunately, I overlooked the fact that all rooms are on the second floor, and that there is no elevator (this is noted in the details on the website) - and that my wife and I (in our 80s) are having difficulties with stairs these days. Seems like only a few years ago that was not an issue, but after one day here, we were feeling distressed, and asked to be released from the remainder of our 5 night reservation. The owner, who was attending the desk, was very sympathetic, agreed to relieve us of any further commitment, and notified Hotels.com of our situation. We received a full refund of the charge for our unused nights. The hotel is as advertised, a pleasant and quaint place to vacation, and if the stairs are not a problem (as they would not have been to us not long ago) you will be very pleased with the Hand Hotel, and the great staff who will do everything possible to help you enjoy your stay.

Historic charm with modern comfort. Beautiful deck overlooking a small lake. Walking distance to several great food options. Will keep this option in my back pocket when we are back in the area.

Stayed 2 nights. The first night was not good, my room was very very hot(they do not have AC) and I barely slept. Maxine put me in a different room the next morning and it was so much better! All the staff was very pleasant and super accommodating.

The building was attractive and had character. We were disappointed that it wasn't a true bed and breakfast as it had been up until just recently. We first found Hand hotel when doing a search for bed and breakfast places. Hard to comment on amenities because I couldn't recall any specific amenities.

The breakfast was very good and the staff were so inviting and friendly! This hotel has so much charm I would recommend it to anyone who needs a place to stay in FairPlay. I’ve stayed here 3 times and every single time was enjoyable! Lots of books to read by the fire place on cold winter nights

We like older hotels with eccentric nostalgia . The bed was comfortable, we liked no TV, the old pictures, the stairs and creaking hall way. The view from the restaurant was outstanding as the breakfast sandwich. We enjoyed our stay and will stay again. If you want a pool and weight room etc go to Denver.
