Outside the city is doing construction on the roadway it is a very nice hotel it’s in a good area it’s very old but quintessential Amsterdam the staff is very friendly

We had a great stay. We had 7 people divided between 3 rooms. Breakfast was perfect and we loved the all day coffee. Location was great

Great stay!

8/10 Good

The lounge and breakfast area were really charming and had a lovely breeze. The terrasse allows you to see the area with the buildings having unique statues. Overall a nice hotel with convenient access to Amsterdam’s attractions and historical canals.
EDITH, 3-night trip

10/10 Excellent

Great location and beautiful lounge area with a balcony! Great breakfast with a large variety and all sorts of cheeses and coffee! There’s no elevator, and the stairs are very steep, so I don’t recommend it if you have a problem with stairs. Otherwise, a great option for staying in the center of Amsterdam! Very friendly people too!
Simona, 1-night trip

Great experience staying at Hotel Clemens. Would absolutely do it again!
Caroline, 4-night trip

8/10 Good

Communication with the hotel was good, even warning me about road works outside (which didn't impact negatively on my stay). The room though small was adequately furnished, and the bed was comfortable. Nice touch to have individual duvets for a double bed! Options for breakfast was good. Internet access was slow, but not to any detriment for my stay.
Andrew, 3-night trip

8/10 Good

The hotel is fine but in a great location with a very kind staff. That being said, the stairs are treacherous, and the rooms are laughably small. Unfortunately, there was also a lot of construction going on outside during my stay (but that is nothing the hotel can control).
Blakley, 1-night trip

10/10 Excellent

This is a lovely hotel, well-located, very clean and the staff were extremely friendly. Room was smaller than standard hotels you may be used to but we were just fine and had everything we needed. Would definitely stay here again.
Helen, 1-night trip

8/10 Good

Great place to stay central to everything, only down side is if your an elderly person the steps are not good, steep and narrow but unfortunately with heritage rule it can’t be changed. The staff were great and carried our bags up and down the stairs. Complimentary coffee and tea and goodies available 24 he with is great.
Amanda, 2-night trip

Had a wonderful stay, central location near to cafes, shops and restaurants. A stones throw away from the Anne Frank House too. Great breakfasts good continental selection. Loved the wee touches such as the pet cats, and ornaments etc. Look forward to a return visit.

Lovely experience

Such a cool place! Charming lobby and breakfast room, our guest room was small but comfortable. You are in a historic building so no elevator but the staff helps with luggage so the steep stairs add to the feeling of living in an Amsterdam house. The staff were all very kind and helpful, we had to leave before breakfast on our last day and the young man at the desk sent us off with a bag of fruit. Definitely not a cookie cutter corporate hotel but a unique experience and in a very central location. And bonus points for the resident kitties!
Carla, 3-night trip

6/10 Okay

My wife and I spent just a couple of days here and for the price, felt it was reasonable value. Room is pretty small and beware the stairs up to reception, they are very steep. Found all areas to be clean and tidy, with the continental breakfast a nice extra. Free tea and coffee facilities in reception area.
Lee, 2-night trip

10/10 Excellent

Great location. Very helpful staff. Good breakfast. Small balcony outside next to the breakfast area. 24/7 tea and coffee at reception with some yummy cookies. Hotel only has 14 rooms and the owners try to run it as a boutique. Beware, steps are very steep and there are way more than the images online show. The steps on the hotel pictures are from the street to the lobby, there are 2 more floors there.
Dina, 4-night trip

10/10 Excellent

Enjoyable stay

The hotel is very nice, the staff is friendly and the breakfast is quite good. The location is fantastic. Access is up a long, narrow staircase to the welcoming lobby. My room was compact but comfortable. The bed was quite soft, a firmer mattress would be nice. The hotel was renovated in 2013 and is well maintained and clean. The cats are friendly
DARCY, 6-night trip

Great Central Location

great stay - location supper convenient & the nicest people are working there!
4-night trip

10/10 Excellent

We've just had 4 nights at the Hotel Clemens with our (almost) 3 year old. After tackling the stairs you are greeted with a wonderful lounge offering drinks and snacks all day. The staff are all wonderful and cant do enough for you. Our little boy was treated like a prince and he has come home with wonderful memories. Yes the rooms are small and the stairs are steep but this gem of a hotel is worth every step. We cant wait to come back!
Charlotte, 4-night trip

10/10 Excellent

Exceptional! Great location, spotless clean, AMAZING breakfast and super friendly staff. There are also 2 cats who live there and they don’t even charge you extra for that upgrade! lol This hotel is just around the corner from the Anne Frank house and steps from shopping, dining and canals. 10/10!
Spring, 1-night trip

10/10 Excellent

A lovely hotel, beautiful interiors and brilliant helpful staff. Would really recommend this hotel to anyone on a city break in Amsterdam
Laura, 3-night trip

8/10 Good

Pros: Great location - convenient, can walk to almost anything you want to see within 20-30 min; we really enjoyed the breakfast - disappointed it rained both mornings so we couldn't enjoy the outdoor patio that looks out over the city; the desk staff was fantastic - did all they could to mitigate the horrible staircase, which leads us to... Cons: As others have commented, the stairs leading to the check-in desk are straight up, narrow, and there are a lot of them. Then you get to walk up another 1-2 flights of steep narrow stairs to the second or third floor to your rather small room that waits for you, which was very pricey for the size. Our tiny room in NYC was even bigger than this one. Again, the staff are great and they help carry all of your luggage up when you check in and down when you check out. But you are on your own climbing 2-3 flights of stairs every time you come back from long walks seeing the sights of the city.
Dennis, 2-night trip
