The hotel its self is lovely clean and tidy but it is directly on the stansted flight path so was extremely noisy, so much that when the plane flow directly over our room you couldnt even hear the tv. And this continued til 12.30am

I had an amazing stay however it is out in the rural area so make sure you set it up with the front desk to order taxis uber is a hit and miss.. William at the front desk was absolutely amazing everybody was really great and welcoming.

Relaxing overnight stay for the airport

Excellent overnight stay, room had all that we required. Staff were 100% attentive and very polite. Food was excellent too. Would recommend to others.

Good hotel but rooms are dated

Hotel communal area was nice. Room was dated. Had to move the side tables to access plug sockets. Some plug sockets didn’t work. The kettle only turned on at a certain position. Staff were friendly in the restaurant. Good food. Good location to get to stansted however we didn’t get much sleep because of the planes taking off every few minutes.

The manor is absolutely beautiful inside and outside. We only stayed 1 night but will be back for a longer stay.

The rooms themselves are fine, check in was an easy process, ample car parking. Tea, coffee and biscuits provided, which was a nice touch. I’ve only awarded the property 3 stars because is it located directly under the flight path of Stansted airport. I stayed in a room on the top floor, prior to an early morning flight, and it was so so noisy with regular planes flying overheard that I had trouble getting to sleep. Far from ideal when you need to be up at 3am!

Great find in the UK.

From the U.S., I searched online for a hotel that dared to be different. I was totally happy with my decision to book at The Great Hallingbury Hotel. The staff were super nice, super accommodating, easy to converse with. The property has a wonderful, out in the country ambiance. The hotel was quite at night, in fact at all times.

Room was just as advertised and had everything we needed - except hair conditioner. Easy and helpful check-in staff. Clean. The collection of buildings were absolutely stunningly cute and well-maintained, especially for the age, and nice explorable grounds. Not much open in the area or walkable past evening time. Quick cab ride to Stanstead. Beds a bit on the short size, rooms could use fans in the summer. Opening the windows was an option but we were on the road side which was surprisingly noisy for most of the night, in addition to very loud planes overhead nearly every 5 minutes well past 11 pm. Nice place, but bring ear plugs or a white noise machine.

Average stay - but a parking ticket problem!!

Location is ideal for Stansted. It’s directly under the flight path for planes landing & taking off so you’re a light sleeper, I would avoid. We were aware of this prior so had no surprises. Despite putting a ticket on the car provided by the hotel, we have ended up with a parking ticket!! So now we are contesting that. Seems like a problem that others have experienced also. The rooms were quite outdated and in need of an upgrade but this was potentially reflected in the price. The rooms weren’t very clean, floor dirty + bathroom. As we were only staying for a short time because of our flight, it didn’t bother us that much. Overall, it was an average stay but we wouldn’t stay again.

Manor house Hotel - Nice but quirky.

Quirky manor house Hotel. Nice room classed as a suite, but only high level skylights which really closes it in. Space much better suited to a family room. Very nice restaurant, menu OK, food OK and fairly reasonably priced. If you don't like liw flying aircraft passing overhead every few minutes it's not for you. Overall it was very good value.

Beautiful place. Brilliant staff. Parking convenient and inexpensive. Property is Near airport but taxi was expensive. Next time will try to get airport accomodation for more convenience and will cost as mich if I get an early deal!

Helpful staff, lovely room, however the road noise was very noticeable, and I had a few issues with my door card not working. Staff very good at resolving the door card. Overall a very good place to stay, and I’d happily return. Well done.
