I knew the room was a “Basic” studio, but I was still thinking it would be at least as nice as a basic hotel room. The cosmetics were updated as seen in the photos (except maybe the very yellow toilet seat), but the amenities were lacking - no hand soap, very little toilet paper (the roll in the room was already halfway used when I got there), and even the comforter supplied was just the light insert to a duvet it seemed, no real comforter on the bed.
The cleanliness was by far the worst part. There were hairs everywhere - in the sheets, on the floor, on the bathroom and shower walls, in the towels. The floors must have been only very lightly swept at best and were in dire need of a good vacuuming and mopping. The towels were also a certain very off-putting off-white. I don’t think they bleach them, so some had noticeable stains.
There was a lovely view of the Kennedy Center, so that was a plus. However, that made for very busy streets, and with paper thin windows, that made it hard to sleep with all the sound coming in. The whole experience just seemed like a cheap no-frills Airbnb. I’d spend my money elsewhere unless you really and truly need to be in Georgetown.
