This hotel is 20 years old and shows it. Having visited it over 14 years ago at its peak. It was a true five-star experience.
What you will experience is low staffing overworked staff who try hard to please guests. Flaking paint, stained carpets, old air-conditioning (sounds like a jet engine), dirty pool water, creaking lifts.
On arrival you are left to fend for yourself. Room is not ready or complete. Cleaning staff do an outstanding job but are under staffed. There is no welcome package, no welcome drink (water) There is no help with suitcases. There is no introduction to the hotel, there is no help to your room to talk you through how it functions. Old fridges, TVs that do not have a satellite and showers that need an overhaul. Bedding is clean balcony is poorly, situated with permanent buzzzing noise. Staff are apologetic but are extremely understaffed. Not a five star experience just managing a shabby three star with Five star Costs.
This feels like a hotel that has been taken over by a large organisation whose only interest is making money and not looking after customers. Very disappointing as I love the area and have spent many years previously in the hotel where it was an exceptional five-star experience.
